Thread: Is it intentional to have a brick wall at 2/2/2/2?

It appears that it is normal to hit this brick wall, many of us have hit it. Dont let the l33t D3WDZ tell you how easy it is. It was easy for them because A.) they have 20 friends with them, B.) they are 2 KEWL and have MaDsKiLlZ and C.) they had about 30 hours head start on everyone else.

I agree, mission dificulty should be way lower then what it is at 2222. I am 3222 and cant progress any further.

You needwingmen in order to do this mission, without them it is practically impossible.

At the very least it needs to separate these missions so you don't have to begin all the way back at the start eachtime ... heck I don't even know how many more missions are strung together after this, it's as far as I've been able to go.

It was around 6PM when I started this, I finally decided I needed to take a break before I break something at around 3AM.

I'd play an alt for a while instead .. but unfortunatly she's stuck at 2/2/2/2 freelance pilot, she has to gain entry into Jabbas pallace to get to her next trainer ... and in order to do that you have to do a bunch of combat missions for Jabba ... not only is she a non-combat character ... ID/Martisan/Tailor/Dancer etc. but now for some reason the guy who gives the missions won't talk to me.

oh well ... I guess I'll get some rest, and find a way to releive some stress then give another shot tomorow ... if there all like this from here on I'm only going to be able to do piloting stuff n the weekends, I don't have 12 hours to blow on one mission during the week.

After 7 hours of the same thing, I feel ya. Except I dont have such a cheery outlook.

Must have left those in my other pants.

Trying to find someone to help you on a long strung together mission cluster like this is like trying to find an image designer to migrate stats at 1 in the morning monday who'll work for free.

Yes, but that is the answer to everything. "Get a group!". They think that everyone is in a guild and has tons of friends to jump at a whim to do a 3 hour mission for you.

It's kind of a difficult situation as i see it, to set difficulty levels for a game like JTL. In a single player game you can have a difficulty setting that the player chooses and thats that. What do you do though in a live world? You cant have the player save.. you cant have the player set their dificulty. So you have to set a level thats going to work the best for as many players as possible. It's a critical balance.

Myself i am not a leet kid on mountain dew,I have however played a great deal of space sims, and find the difficulty level to be pretty average. Not everyone is on the same level no, but there are alot of space sim players taking this game up that would just blow through it and toss it if it was easy enough for the average mmog player to expect to be able to solo every mission.

This is an MMORPG folks... if you can't do it alone, get help
if you can't do it with help, get more help. Dont have any friends to help you with missions? make new friends.
If it were simple to do it.. .everyone would be master pilot in a day.
If you want to fly solo, you need a 1 player game =0
Keep in mind, you are obviously *points up* not the only one that thinks the tier 3's suck... so take some names down, start a thread on your servers board, group up.... and get'r'done.

(ps. yes, the tier 3 missions suck...but they are not impossible if you have a group together)

I dont have all week to plot and plan out a group of people to help me do a mission. I cant sit in game for 16 hours a day making buddies with random people. I cant get to know each and every person on the entire server. I have a job, im military, I get called in a lot and forced to work overtime. My only free days are saturdays and sundays and sometimes thats not assured. Perhaps you have all the time in the world but my time spent in game is used to acomplish something. I spend every waking hour in game trying to get to the point I can socialize and that not often.

for starters... my post was not specifically directed at you.
secondly... you assume you have to play 16 hours a day to have friends/allies in game
to me it just sounds like some people(not you, your not the only one reading this probobly) need to play 1 person games if they cant figure out how to get a group to accomplish missions.
if a mission is too hard, get help, this is a multiplayer game after all...just because you cannot win a mission solo that is meant to be done in a group doesn't mean the system needs to be changed.

I'm glad I read the entire thread, because I was about to make the same reply as Lightsaberburns. But, in reading this, I have to reply to Palad as well. I'm military also. I don't get to play SWG nearly as much as I'd like. However, I do have friends. If you don't have friends, hang out by the trainer who gave you the mission for five minutes, I guarantee someone who is in the same boat as you will come along. I stayed at 2/3/3/2 for nearly a week because the mission was tough. It took a lot of messing around with different ships and getting my friend to tag along to finally get past it. If you're not into this, or expect that you should be able to solo the mission, maybe you should go play a 1PS, like Jedi Academy, or go old school and get X Wing vs. TIE fighter. At any rate, try before you complain, people will like you more for it.

Oh dude, Your funny... Im doing just fine, I went to the imp base on yavin, asked around and, tons of people doing Tier 3 missions also join your group and you just do it together, Soe made it so once you get good, you half to have people help you, It makes it alot more fun... so just get a few people, you dont half to know them, and just do missions together... take turns... its that simple, Im now in Tier 4 , by doing this

I am not saying you are completly wrong Palad, but I was able to beat all 4 Tier 3 missions in one night. Did the first two on my own, the second two, a friend helped, though afterwards, I felt that I could have soloed the last two as well. But regardless, there are people that are not as good at flight sims, and all I can suggest is to group. If you don't know anyone that can help you, just wait at your trainer and ask someone who is doing his tier 3 missions, he may want to help.

To the original poster, there were a few times that I thought the spawn rate of the attackers a bit quick, but they do come at specific intervals, whether you are done your current batch or not. If you don't have a wingman or two, I recommend flying around Tier 3 areas and getting good at taking out your target. If you can speed up your attack, you won't have to worry about being overwhelmed.

If there are soooooo many people having trouble with the missions, then why aren't these vast numbers grouping together to complete said missions?

It boggles the ming really. On one hand people on this forum insist there's a vast outcry against mission difficulty, and yet ironically they can't find the same frustrated people on their galaxy to help each other out.

Something doesn't jibe.
