Thread: DEVS Ship mass changes won't be retroactive? This is unacceptable
I made about 8 million in one day last week and about 3 million the next (for less than half the time), haven't logged on for more than 5 minutes since. There are many people with 300 million + credits. The easiest way to make long term money is to get an agreement with someone who crafts and mine for them. Even if you're only making 1 or 2 CPU you can easily pull in a couple million credits a week (esspecially SW's since you can get a deal going where you get cheap or free ships if you mine what they tell you to mine).
The firespray will likely settle in around 3 -5 million thats fair, but for the first 10-20 or so I don't see 25 million as all that unreasonable. That's for the ultrarich defesnse stackers who farmed krayts, the best armoursmith, weaponsmiths and chefs on server to have something to flaunt and be proud of for a week or two. Its like anything else in life. Is a ferrari or lambourgini really worth what it costs? Its not like they are 20x as good as a $20K car, but the 'prestige' factor associated with it is what people are paying for.

Not happy about this at all, when is this due to happen? I'm looking to invest in a bigger ship but may hold off a while now...

We're thinking Tuesday. We're holding off on making our Firesprays until Tuesday, hoping that Publish 11.2 goes live then.
At any rate, it's coming with Publish 11.2.

26 million isn't a great amount of money really. It seems that way, but for the first handfull on a server its not. There are weapons on valcyn that on occasion make 35-40 million (obviously extremely good ones), that sort of thing.
Sure the ship only requires 150k resources, but you aren't paying for resources with the firespray. You're paying for the time of some poor bugger to manage many thousands of pieces of inventory to RE them. I've been doing it for a few of us in my guild and I could quite seriously have spent four or 5 hours a day just sorting and REing gear, and I'd be lucky to get a disk every couple of days. So for 26 million you're getting probably 80 hours of someones work (of course they get 3 of these total), plus, and somewhat more to the point, the prestige of being the first to own it.
I disagree that they couldn't convert the items in beta. They could have developed the tools to do it, but being beta it wasn't worth the time, and they would have needed to try and convert every single item in the database. The processing on that alone would be hours. While its true the whole of the itemization system needs a revamp, we're talking about now probably a few hundred ships per server, the scale and nature of the problem are somewhat different.
well yes, and no.
26 mil is plenty enough to buy all the resources you need to make master shipwright, and it's one of the fastest grinds I've ever seen, if you have the cash for the resources.
This whole "your paying for someones time to master" should be the smallest factor in shipwrights, it takes you longer to run around buying/mining the resources you need than it does to grind.

26 million is steep. the person was paying for the recognition of being one of the first to own a Firespray. But, as mush as it pains me to say this, 3 or 4 million would be a fair price for one, as it takes at least 1,000 components to be RE'd to get all 8 disks.
We have a complete schematic, but we're waiting until the mass change to build them.
***P.S. These will not be sold, but given to the present masters in our guild.

Truewildman in beta when they changed it the acknowledged it, I don't think they've said much since which is probably because they aren't sure exactly which ship.
Oh, yeah, they said there would be more missions (after master)and more ships.I remember that. I thought you had some sort of beat on a timeline, or a specific ship they were adding for Privateers.
