I would like to see SWG: Smuggler's Run


A total revamp to the JTL. It would add even more ships (but for now i can like with only 15 ) and smuggling missions. Neutrals can install hidden compartments on their ships and run contraband for the rebels out running the imp customs partols or take on imp cargo hauling jobs that go right through pirate space. Or take on high priority cargo from Black sun or the Hutts, making sure the Imps dont sieze it and the Rebels dont steal it. Make the smugling run from kessel to the otherside of the pit and prove you the best cargo hauler in the galaxy. This would also add the planets Kessel, Hoth, Courscant (or Imperial Center) and the ability to walk around space stations.

I personally would like to see something like a heavy repeater. Something that the ST's did use in the movies.

I think it would be cool if you could "rent out" space inside cities like Bestine or Coronet to set up a shop or house. There are all those npc buildings that can't be used for anything. The only reason people go into npc cities anymoreis to take shuttles.

I dont expect a expansion, at least not for a few more years.


With all this bull**edit** the devs are saying, its going to be a few years til they revamp what they said they will.

Actually, if you're interested in Battelfield 1942, Star Wars style try the Mod for Battlefield 1942 that makes it Starwars. It's called galactic conquest, free download can get it here.http://www.galactic-conquest.net/


AT-ST's, Tie's, X-Wings, Storm Troopers. Relive all the famous battles, and with Battlefront, also coming out I don't see that as the next expansion.


Now as to not hijack this post, What I would eventually like to see is something to roll over to the next phase in the timeline. SWG takesplace after ANH, we need an all new game not just an expansion, but call it SWG2Place title here) that starts out after ESB. The would allow for alot of future content leading to the battle of hoth and all events in ESB to occurin the current platform.


This game would include Hoth, Cloud City, Dagobah, all planets revealed in the 5th Movie. It could even include Kashyyk since it will be reveled by this time in EP III.


This way you could have, revamped Jabba's palace complete with Han frozen in Carbonite. Dagobah would basically be an Elite world with no building, just MASS amounts of hunting XP. Imperials instead of workingout ofthe emporer's retreatcould (Being the JTL would be out now) work directly from the bridge of the executor taking missions from Select (living) Imperial officers and Vader. Executor and Dagobah would clearly only be accessible by Rebels, and no I don't think it would make sense to be able to communicate with Yoda and Luke unless they moved them off Dagobah to someplace like maybe Yavin or Dantooinewhere Luke is learning Jedi skills.


Rebels would be able to take missions from General Calrissian, work on acquiring plans for the new Death Star (Many Bothans died........). Anyway, I think this could be done with simply an expansion, but almost needs a new title as it's moving on in the timeline. Most importantly would lead on to my next idea, which ends with an all out war to finally bring SWG to an end with a PVP war to defend the death star including both the ground and spaced based elements.


The Final installment in SWG, as they bring her to an end is all players on all servers Rebel and Imperial crash head on, in the battle of endor. Find, and acquire the location for the shield generator ultimately leading to the space battle that destroys the 2nd Death Star. Don't ask me how to make it work without MASSIVE lag. But it certainly sounds cool, and is just my $.02 based on a fantasy for future expansion. Hope you like my ideas. Peace!

My ideas for the future improvements/Expansion:


FIX Ground Game: Personally, I see many folks point of view on the broken aspects of SWG, but I am tired of hearing about all the problems. I have tons of fun and appreciate the fact that there is a STAR WARS MMORPG and that such passion has gone into it.


Atmospheric Flight: Cloud city and the like.


Underwater capabilities: I seen how EverQuest II tackled underwater environment, and I can say, they did it RIGHT. God, I hate that game for beating us to the punch. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, do this. Even if it means copying what they have done. The Gungan city, Mon Cal, and Kamino are screaming for release.


Multipassenger Vehicles, with weapons. The speederbike already has the gun mounted. Make it work.


New planets: Degobah, Hoth, Coroscant (Look at the MaTriX Online - with this in mind, allow for instanced space rental in the NPC cities)


Space stations & capital ships that we can board (also add limited docking for those ships that should have it. YT-1300 has at least one docking port, and should be able to dock with a Nebular Frigate.)


Improved Questing: Branching quest, that take you to a different conclusion each time you start it & add riddles that make you think where you should go and what you should do, and what kinds of professions are necessary to take along in group (both combat & non-combat). God forbid we need missions that will force us to group and build a strong community. All this solo action gets old, very fast. Grinding to the next level should be fun and not even noticable because you are enjoying yourself in group so much.


All this said and done, know this much, the list goes on. I am going to stay no matter what, because I love STAR WARS, but please reward my patronage by making this the BEST MMORPG you can play. Give the EverQuesters something to fear! As of now, even with JTL, I am thinking very hard about bouncing back and forth between the two games every other month or so. PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE don't give me a reason to stay. I do like Lord of the Rings & Everquest is the closest one can get to that genera, but my heart belongs to STAR WARS & I want to be out in the open when MMORPG talk springs forth at work, not hiding in the closet - ashamed of my loyality to SWG. /steps off of soap box.

1) Frequent space live events: Stardestroyer attacks, rebel raids

2)Space battles (between capital ships and NPC craft, players would be able to join in and help their faction)

3) Smuggling runs

4) Later: guild controlled capital ships.

5) Atmospheric flight, at least to the extent that multi-passenger ships would be able to land outside player cities.

6) Space mining: rare and HQ materials in asteroid fields

7) New locations: Bespine, Nar Shadda

8) New planets


Just a few ideas, it would be more of a JTL expansion than an expansion to the ground game.
