I agree.. if they are in the Naboo sky from the ground, we should be able to see em in space.

That's not Star Wars continuity, but in-game continuity, and it should be respected.

The biggest problem with placing them in the other space zones are their immense size, there's just not room for them right now. That and the fact that it would pulverize any Rebel pilots starting their adventure in Naboo.

Perhaps they could be placed in low orbit, outside the zone players can reach, meaning we can't reach them and they can't blow us up. It's something to look at, from a distance, but nothing more. It'll definately give the same feeling of "Imperial Presence" seeing them from above, as it does when you see them from the ground... Even if you can never get close enough to touch.

I think it's more a problem with the scale of things. The space zones are as small as planet zones (who in turn are as small as a smaller city, 15 x 15 km), and when travelling with the space ship, you go about as fast as a car.

Btw nothing wrong with one pulverizing newbie rebels above Naboo *evil grin*.

I've wondered about the star destroyers myself. I suppose I should console my need for continuity by telling myself that they're on the "other" side of the planet, where we can't see em from where we're allowed to go.

As cool as they are to see from the ground, I think I'd rather have them removed from the skies from the ground than them not being there in space.

Then what's the point?

We need capital ships we can land on, and walk around in. Don't accept second best.

This was the other thought I had, but forgot to mention in my prior post.

Like with the Imperial Hat... I'll gladly accept a littleright now... Rather than a lot in a sixteen months.

Will Pex be able to get his hands on them?
Although they may not be practical as static objects in the main sectors, I think it would be a great tool for the events team to use. Nothing more Star Wars than seeing a Star Destroyer hypering into the system to lay down the law.

Mr. Swede,

they don't fit right now? Is it a goal to make them fit down the line? i.e. enlarging the Zones or have new bigger Zones. Is it a Gameplay decision to have the Zone at their current size or a technical one?

"pulverize" isn't exactly the term I would use. Here's a few others, perhaps more appropriate:

  • burninate

  • liquefy

  • literally scare to death

  • flash fry

  • show them the "obi-wan" manuever

  • add to the nebula dust

  • make another would-be hero

  • pacify with extreme prejudice

  • "Now witness the power of this fully armed and operational-" *ZAP*. "Why did you do that, private!? I wasn't done mocking him yet."

  • Make him one with the Force. Forcibly.

I believe StarDestroyers arn't THAT big... About the size of the current space stations in the current game.

Hey, actually, why don't you replace the imperial bases with those?

If that dosn't work, you could always put Victory-Class StarDestroyers in their place...

Just for giggles, they should make micro star destroyers in orbit over the planets, things half the size of a shuttle craft, twice as destructive as a fully functional death star!
