Vin, the 3 of us basically agree, don't give these people ammo to negate our points. They'll nitpick our posts anyway we dont need to help them.

You are changing what SOE says. You do not have to engage in PVP. It is consensual. the only way you feel that you are forced to be in PVP is if you feel you must have Master Pilot.

The fact is, that you do not have to be a Master Pilot. It is a choice, correct? The choice carries consequences. One of these consequences is that if you want to be a MP - you will have to goto a PVP zone. Since you choose it, it is consensual. You agree to do it. If you don't you just don't get to be a MP.

But it isn't consentual PvP if you must do it to master pilot it isn't choice. Consentual PvP doesn't mean a consequence based PvP, it means choice, yes or no box do you want to or not. You can choose Master or not but you cannot choose toPvE for Master so the game is NOT consentual PvP, stop trying to pan it off as a consequence because that also doesn't mean choice so you still make my point. I cannot do the Master mission without the chance of PvP, so I am not choosing to PvP it is being put on me as a condition. A condition is not consentual, a condition is situational, thanks for agreeing with me as to being forced into PvP as a means to an end.

OMG.. is this guy for real? How can you argue that you are being forced to PvP?

I hate going to school (would rather be playing SWG) but I really want to be a doctor. However, I realize that Ican't practice medicine without going to school first, so yes I AM FORCED to go to school IF I want to become a doctor... but the choice to become a doctor is mine, and mine alone! The government isn't forcing me to become a doctor.. it's my choice! It would be completely ludicrous for me to complain that I am being forced to go to schooljust because I wantto become a doctor!!

There are certain steps and challenges on the way to what I want.. but the choice is up to me if I want to do it or not.

Grow up and get real!!

To clear it up, you are never forced to PvP, you just have to go into a PvP zone, I went there for fun, 1 ship, a NPC Gunboat, didnt even attack me

The facts

1. Master pilot is the last skill box in pilot.

2. Master Pilot takes place in a PvP zone.

3. If you want Master Pilot you must enter a PvP zone.

4. SOE said this expansion was going to be consentual PvP.

what is wrong with this picture? all these facts are absolutly correct, and it makes no sense 3 and 4 are not compatible, monkeys on the moon can see that why can't you?

SOE did not lie. You do not, I repeat, do not, have to get Master Pilot. If you *CHOOSE* to, you need to go into a PVP zone. They are not forcing you to do anything. It's a matter of risk vs reward. If you think the reward of having Master Pilot is worth the risk, good. If not, you can still pilot plenty of ships, and have a grand ole time, without being an Ace Pilot.

I have also read many posts about needing many ships to take out the corvette, which eliminated the greifers instantly

HELLO where did I say you have to get master? wher show it right there show me?

Which number was wrong? is Master not the last box? does the master mission take place in a PvP zone? IF, IF, IF you want Master do you not HAVE TO, HAVE TO go into a PvP zone? SOE did or did not say PvP was consentual?

Don't you dare put words into my mouth to support you little fantasy.

which is false then? I mean you just said you don't have to do the master mission, I agree but that doesn;t change the facts.

Hey genius the griefer isn't shooting at the vette and is on the same side as the vette, that is why they can shoot at the group attacking the vette.

Did you think before typing? oh sorry my bad of course not.

The problem is this, the Corvette hits HARD. I don't have a problem with that. I think the encounter is just fine as is. The problem is, since there's no Space Healing or Rezzing, when you die you have to zone out, get repaired and zone back in. This is where the fun happens. There are players on the other side that will wait til you engage the Corvette and then camp your spawn point and load kill you. Please explain to me how load killing is valid PvP. Please explain to me how this isn't griefing. Effectively ONE player can keep a whole group from finishing their master mission. How you say? Easy. He camps the spawn point and load kills, if you pull off and chase him halfway across the zone and kill him, he just repairs and comes back, or better yet calls his whole guild to come load kill you. Of course by the time you catch him the Corvette has decided to hyper away. Tell me again how this is fun? I'm all for a challenge but the current system is nothing but a grief-fest. They need to fix this like YESTERDAY. That and fix my damn Ace jacket so I can wear it

talking points from a PvPer:

1. PvP is a challenge

2. PvP is fun

3. No one will camp or gank, they will be too busy.

4. Ace pilot should have to be the best (That is assuming that PvP is a mark of success).

5. Shut up that's why.

6. Quit whinning and just play it our way.

7. MMOs are about community, and blowing each other up is community. (My favorite)

8. You should have to group anyway. (Like someone could solo this mission anyway, maybe this is my favorite).

Slarus are you that stupid?

My post stated that the large number of ships needed to take out the corvette ELIMINATED the greifers, E.G. they shot the greifers and then the corvette

I swear some people...

EDIT: As with most problems witht he game it is with the players , not the game, easy solution is to send the campers a warning, they do it again, and they get banned

Oh yeah I know that is exactly what you said, now the problem with that is the one shot one kill PvP that we have, means that is by chance the guy who got the mission is one of the ones killed in "eliminating" the griefers (Waste of time translation) mission is over, start again.

All the griefers have to do is keep coming back, the ones on the mission are already fighting PvE spawns, you know like for the mission, taking damage and such, now thin them out more dealing with 12 year olds like you gunning them down with nothing to lose.

Griefers have zero to lose and will always fight to the death, cause all they have to do is stop those on the mission. Those on the mission have to live through you the griefer and the spawns for the mission, they have a vested interest in staying alive, I.e genius the risk vs reward is unbalanced.

I swear some people, oh here is your talking points:

So your post falls into 5,6,7 on the points. You fail to see the point of the debate, FORCED PVP IS WRONG.
