There is already the graphics for this, when you first start the game and do the player turtorial you are in a space station. It has a bank, a trainer and a Star port..........looks like this would be a very easy thing to implement

Awesome idea!!!

Yea it's good idea but.

They have other stuff to fix first. I like the newly crowded main cities it's more fun.

I made this comment again and again in beta and was ignored. We finally got the black holes in Kessel, so I guess we should consider ourselves lucky

Devs already said they wouldn't have something like this at launch....

Anyways, for future publishes yes they DO need this....be the first city in space, as centerpoint station was in fact a big city in space...

If Centerpoint can be/is used, the devs should consider this: it's a cylindrical station that rotates to create artificial gravity. When it comes time to lay out its internal geography they should try to make it so that if you keep going "north" on your map, you'll wind up going off the top and back onto the map from the "south", from the bottom. And when you look up you can see the rest of the station above you.

Would be some pretty cool effects to work in

Death Star II - 160km if it had been completed.

Centerpoint Station - 100km sphere with 150km gravity rods.

Don't Believe Me? Click Here.

Do you really want to get 1fps or guaranteed crashes in Corellian space?

I have no idea where you got those numbers for the Second Death Star, but your source is wrong. When completed the Second Death Star would have been somewhere in the region of 600km.

Anyway, more on topic. It'd be great to see Centerpoint in the Corellian sector as it's basically what created the Corellian system seeing how it was artificialy created using Centerpoint and the Thursters that are in every planet in the system (Read the Corellian Trilogy by Roger Macbride Allen if you don't know what I'm talking about). Centerpoint is important and not including it, as a back ground feature or somewhere you can go, is pretty much pissing all over what the very nature of what the Corellian system is.

I was asking in Beta for a non-functional graphic. A operational space station would be nice but there's no reason not to have artwork for it there.

I support removing combat classes if keeping them in results in a "dumbed down" game

There is a technical detail that everyone seems to be overlooking, and it has to do with the way the devs designed the sectors. Here's a little tidbit about Centerpoint Station--it is situated between the planets of Talus and Tralus. As the game is now, you can't fly to any of the planets. If they did add Centerpoint in the correct location, you would be able to see it but you wouldn't have a prayer of flying towards it. It would always be in the distance. This is just one of those things that I wish the devs had more hindsight in when they were planning the space sectors.

Expanding on the floating city idea somewhat.. how about giving us Politicians with worthless Professions a little something... maybe like a Player election for the City? People could campaign, and control a few limited, simple things like shuttleport prices, or shop rental rates? Just a thought.. as it is we are pretty pointless.
