Shop around boys and girls.

I found my Dunelizard chassis for 5K (yes, 5K) and equipped the best components I previously looted from space trips with the initial free ship. Then, It's off to the bazaar to find high quality yet crazy cheap components.

Myflying has cost me close tonothing after you figure in the credits earned and selling of looted components.

There's always someone selling for less.

well i have no problem finding a decent priced ship , however i do have my guild that helps . but on the original post i would say atm thier are a LOT of people trying to make a quick buck soon however it will settle down and those people will give up and go do osmething else . The problem with resources is that everyone is fighting over resources i found that could not find any ore at a resonable price . only ore i could find was at 8 cpu .

Here's an option. If you don't want to pay high prices, just grind shipwright.

You won't get my business or many of the others either. If you charge more than 3 cps you are in this category.

I would not blame the shipwrights, it is the resouce providers that are dramtically increasing thier prices. Right now because ships such a great number of resouces, most players couldnt possibly harvest all the resouces themselves, so they basically have to buy resouces from other players. On starsider steel is going for about 5 cpu, this is grind quality mind you so. If shipwrights were charging 3 cpu, they would tend to lose alot of money. What is the sense in being a commerial shipwright if you are going to lose money in the process?

But, at the same time, there are many shipwrights who mine all their own resources (which, including overhead, costs the miner a whopping 0.5 to 0.8cpu to mine) still charging out the wazoo for chassis, usually anywhere between 10 to 20cpu.

That's just raping the populace. Just because you "can" doesn't mean you "should".

Or shop around. There are shipwrights charging only3 to 5cpu (in extreme cases) for chassis and parts using 900 stat resources.

***Edited for price correction.

Yes typically, those that do ALL their own mining, are lot swappers so, it would not suprise me if they gouged. I think the vast majority of shipwrights do a combination of buying thier resoucesand mining.

12k is not expensive. At least for me I can make that much in half an hour.

Well, I realize this is an exceptional case, but me and the other 5 of the members in our group have 140 lots between us and our alts.

I'm just saying that there are other shipwrights out there like this, so, just like a well-driven market, shop around.

See I kind of find that just wrong having access to that many lots. Their is a 10 lot limit for a reason.

Guys, Guys, Guys. Ships are expensive because they contain a lot of resources.

It takes 15,000 units of resources to make a y-wing. I've seen people selling resources for 2 * units but the average for bla resources is 3 * units. So 3 * 15k = $45k. That's the lowest a SW should sell a y-wing for unless its total crap.

A Rihkxyrk takes 192,000 units of resources to build. 3 * 192k = $576k. That's with average or below average resources. For an uber Rihkxyrk (are these random letters or does it mean something) expect to pay 2 mil or more. I'm serious. A-wings and Tie aggressors take the same number of resources.

With SW's grinding right now resources are scarce. If you find resources expect to pay a premium.

shop around and/or give it a bit - the way it is now I can sell my resources for more than I can sell a ship for - but I dont normally build for the public anyway and when I do I rarely charge anything.

Jove's Fury 6 months (un-describable disappointment) ~ SWG *clock still ticking*

Im a SW and i mostly make ships for my guild, but sometimes i sell my ships and parts to ppl that do ask or they are sent to me from a fellow guildy. I charge a good price and it all depends on what materials i use and how much it cost me to get it. My ship chassies sell for 5-8cpu, and parts 8-10cpu(bria venders sell resources for to high a price, mostly 8-12cpu for very good material). But im nice to my fellow guildmates. If they help me harvest resources, they get free ships. If they dont harvest resourcesthey have to pay a flat rate of 5cpu.

The price for ships and parts will stabalize and we will start to see more really good parts coming up once some of the resources get some good stats, especialy for the hop-up parts that go in ship parts.

So if you can, try to harvest material. That way you can use it for trade. Or get your guild together and harvest as much as you can and build, build, build.

I think that's about where the economy is going to settle at.
