They Changed it due to griefers in the loadzone. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Done blame the PVE. Blame the PVP players who Abused it!!!! Yes your own type of Players ruined it and forced the change. Not to mention all you master pilots were able to grind before the whole griefer thing could take hold. Congrats you have no life and lots of free time. But get over it. Its done and you only didit to yourselves!

Firstly, who are you to stereotype me into being a PvP'er, and more importantly why are you associating me with griefers? I am pro-PvP, would I ever classify myself as a PvP'er, no. I am against griefers, as are the rest of the people in this community. We all can agree that those types of people are bad for the community, yet in my opinion stereotypical jerks like you are just as bad. Also like someone else said, its suppose to be difficult to do, but most likely poorly implemented and thus easy to do unless someone real is trying to stop you. Removing PvP from the system will most likely produce unlimited amounts of waves of new master pilots to the point where if you want to be master its no big deal because well it ain't that hard.

RamaDragonStar wrote:

For those pvp'er still whining about not getting your own way to gank other players, WHY NOT GO TO PLANETSIDE where it is fully PVP there. You have ground troops, tanks, aircraft to fly and maybe space fighters. Go there instead.Leave us PVE'ers along.

Um, yeah, you could go play EQ2 which doesn't have PvP or CoH which doesn't have PvP. These types of games a made for people who only love PvE and well this argument you present goes both ways. It isn't going anywhere so I ain't going to argue with you about it.

Most importantly, I am not fighting for PvP or PvE here, I am fighting and yelling because guess what, we just lost another part of the game. They say they are going to rework the idea and fix it and reimplement it? They said this about, jedi, combat, and Multiple professoins. This seems to be a reworking theme in this game and that is what I am pissed about. Let's implement something we know won't work in the long term, take the whole system back, say we are working on it, and implement something maybe better maybe worse in a few months or half a year. Remember /citywarn, yeah they are still working on that problem, in the mean time the whole militia concept is useless unless your city is being overrun by creatures, which is impossible according to the coding of spawns.

yet you've never posted advocating moving the yt out of the master box? or did i miss all the threads you participated in about that? however you will support taking a pvp zone away from players?

PvPersare not entitled to the last box on the pilot tree, so moving stiff out of the last box is not the answer it was never a distinction for them it is only the last box in the pilot tree. No one supports Kessel going PvE, Except to fix the issue with the master mission. I would have prefered they not do that but I can understand that the issue was hot enough they had to act fast. I also know this is clear not going to stay this way. They are discussing it and testing it we'll see the change on TC soon enough I think that will calm the PvPers down when we start seeing some TC changes.

you'd be surprised actually. from what i gather there's numerous faucets to this arguement, allow me to list them.

1. you should have to pvp to master
2. it's not fair to take a way a pvp area, find an alternative
3. it's not fair to take away a pvp area, but i'm glad they are doing it, because griefing sucks
4. it's not fair to take away a pvp area, calm down it will be fixed
5. good
6. i hate you, griefer
7. why do you want to grief me?
8. anyone who pvp load kills
9. i hate load killing, i want to load kill you
10. i want my YT

so your rational arguement is 1 of 10. i hope they do make changes, i really do and if they include another feature that supports a contested, central point to pvp for all players, i'll stop caring about kessel. i'll lament the ease at which the master box is obtained, but so what?

Exactly

But also blame the imbalance in PVP where people are one shot kills because the grievers just wat for you to get engaged with a few tier 5's and jump you.

If balance was corrected kessel would just be the same as running a factoin mission on the ground. You are TEF'd and if an overt comes he can attack you. The difference is on the ground your armor and buffs will protect you for that first shot while you are engaged with the NPC's. Not so in space.

There will not be as much of a resistance to it being a mixed zone once pvp is balanced and the exloids plugged up

We have now changed Kessel’s rule set and removed it from being a full PVP zone. In order to PVP in Kessel you will have to visit a faction station in a near by zone and declare.

According to the above, PvP was not/is not being"removed" from the zone.

Rather, those that like/want to PvP can CHOOSE to "visit a faction station in a near by zone and declare", no?

So, what exactly is the gripe? PvP isn't being removed; it's neing made into a CHOICE. If you like it, you get to play it against others that also chose it. What is wrong with that? Why is choice bad? Wouldn't you prefer to PvP against willing participants? Or no?

No such thing as a neutral declaration. (And don't say pick a side. If I wanted to pick a side, I wouldn't be a smuggler.)

Kessel allowed it, now it doesn't.

1. you should have to pvp to master

Opinion only held by a very small number, there is no evidence to support this thoery that the 18th box in the pilot tree equals PvP title, zero. No regularly cert ship is considered a PvP ship, and giving PvP lvl 9 and 10 equipment is unbalancing.

2. it's not fair to take a way a pvp area, find an alternative

Agreed

3. it's not fair to take away a pvp area, but i'm glad they are doing it, because griefing sucks

griefing sucks would be nice to fix griefing and keep PvP, but griefers will find a new way.

4. it's not fair to take away a pvp area, calm down it will be fixed

It will get fixed

5. good

It's mixed at best, I think the Devs hurt you PvP guys and they need to correct it properly.

6. i hate you, griefer

No one likes griefing.

7. why do you want to grief me?

Easy prey and cheap ego boost you know that.

8. anyone who pvp load kills

??

9. i hate load killing, i want to load kill you

Two wrongs dont make a right.

10. i want my YT

It isn't a good PvP ship so what reason to reward PvPers with a PvE group ship?

so your rational arguement is 1 of 10. i hope they do make changes, i really do and if they include another feature that supports a contested, central point to pvp for all players, i'll stop caring about kessel. i'll lament the ease at which the master box is obtained, but so what?

So you'll accept the game as it was intended and realize the Devs experiment in forced PvP was a failure, good we can move on with our lives then.

I believe that's the first time I've seen you acknowledge that it was originally intended to be that way, even experimental.

This change totally sucks the big one and once again completely alienates the PvP community. Thanks. Just because you suck at something, it doesn't make it right to scream for nerfs and ruin everyone elses' fun.

The PvP community knows that declaring to be overt isn't very good. It means that everyone going overt is a buffed up super hero. They're either multi-masters or they're covert. Part of PvP is knowing that you can be attacked at any time and that adds to the thrill of the gaming experience, as well as not being quite sure if you can take out your target or not, and is something that we enjoy. It actually becomes self-regulating and doesn't require nerfs. It also encourages tactics and group play. Send in scouts before hand. Get an escort. Play with *shock* other people!!!Yes I know what a lot of you are thinking -"OMGODZ!!! Who wants to play a MMORPG with other people?!?!!111oneone"
