/agree (even though I'm a reb on the ground)

I was in beta, and I did masterlike 5 days ago. Onehitting people? You betchaHow else would you have it? Would you rather have it like a melee duel with both people in 90% comp suits? Fast paced and skilled fights in space are awesome. Kudos to the devs for making it like that, and more kudosto the devs for making you go to a pvp zone to finish your profession. You call getting killed in a pvp zone once or 10 timesgrieving? Take some friends with you, or you could try practicing. JTL is based more on player skill level rather than who has the better equipment. The devs did such a good job that I'm almost certain it will be dumbed down like the ground game from all the people crying about not being able to progress to master because of all of the "grieving" players. And I thought rebels cried a lot on the ground

Well, that last part wasn't quite fair. I'm sure there are a lot of whiner imps too. I just don't catch it so I don't notice it.

The Beta freaks always always always get there first and ruin the game for everyone else. Why? Because there is nothing left for them to do but GRIEF!!!!!
The Beta freaks vs the Casual Player, no contest-- the Beta Freaks rule any game and as a result end it for everyone with the game going belly up.
Something to think about.
I disagree. I was in the beta as well and I'm not yet master pilot on the live server but I should be in the next day or two. I would have made it there faster but I've spent a lot of time helping other people with their lower tier missions. What do I plan to do when I get master? PvP like crazy and have a Thanksgiving party for my guild on my YT-1300. There's plenty to do besides grief. Hey the same could be said for jedi:Once you get to knight, what is there to do but grief and kill-steal? Not everyone plays the same man.
Forgot to mention: Why do you assume that because some of us get to master soon that we're automatically looking to grief other players? I'm where I am in the pilot tree because I'm pretty good at flying (at least I think). So far I've soloed the entire grind (misions and all) just to prove to myself that I could do it. For me, getting master is just a personal accomplishment and not simply a way to start ganking younger pilots. Sure I could have grouped with 5 or 6 of my friends and blown through the missions in a few days, but that's not the point of the game for me. Getting to master first doesn't really mean much to me.

Sometimes you can have the last laugh as I did, some kid ina Hutt Scyk fighter tried to ambush my (impervious) Sorosub as I approached Tatooine. I just let him get closer and closer, guns blazing until he was right on top of me - then shut down the engines and let him run up the back.
Shieldsgone and major damage...................

I was in beta and I'm a 3332 imperial pilot. I'll admit I think I moved up faster than any new player in the imperial pilot program as that is what i did in beta but I understand how frustrating it is to see people with master level skills a day after they became available. Personally I think it's the biggest flaw in this game. A Master pilot should not be a qualification you can earn in a day or even a week. I would have hoped a month or more would be needed to make master. All that xp to grind and it doesn't mean anything when missions give you skill points. (Spoiler) Lower level pilots may not realize is but tier 2 is the last place you need to grind. Tier 3 is all mission based. You complete a mission, you get a skill. I assume tier 4 and master are the same so it does not require grinding out xp or lots of kills, just need to finish the mission.
I don't think there were master pilots on day 2 but there were master shipwrights... That was the biggest slap in the face imo. If they'd made that profession advance more slowly it would have helped a lot because you can't complete harder missions without better ships. Several master shipwrights said it took them between 4-6 hours to complete the profession. Granted that requires a lot of resources stocked up but it's still just 4-5 hours and poof you are a master shipwright.

Plus you need griefers to keep the master pilot population down, kinda like BH on jedi's. Or at least slow them down.
