here. Check this out. I don't think the ships are really invulnerable, and this may help you.

Anyone that has some free time, plz try this out and try to help verify the problem.

Not sure I have come across this one. Are you saying no matter what you hit and where, no damage registers? On anything?

That's exactly what he is saying...or if you do damage it, by the time you land another that registers their shields have regenerated to full again. Gives you the feeling of futility when trying to complete a mission.

get better weapons? j/k that sucks. i havent had a prob so far. i know some ships you just cant damage like if they are for someone else on a mission it wont let you damage them(but it gives an error sound if u try to. i just made Rebel pilot 3-3-3-3 and its been smooth for me.

There are some issues wiht client/server synching, but I have always shot for the lead indicator or just slightly behind it to get the hits to register. Try doing that and come back with your results.

Here is his problem with 100 percent certainty.

He was doing mission where he had to shoot X ship.

X ship is spawned for him.

Other people are doing similar missions, and X ship is spawned for them too.

He is an idiot.

He shoots at other peoples X ship. The WAH WAH WAH sound indicating its NOT your mission sounds in his ear, but he is oblivious to anything other than the carebear beliefs that he is right.

He posts here, saying JTL is broke.

He is called stupid, loads up game, realizes he is stupid, finishes mission based on the info given to him by people that called him stupid, then in thanks, comes back here and flames the people who told him what he was doing wrong.

Watch and see, I'm always right.

Believe me - I had no problem hitting ships in Beta (just a couple of weeks ago). I blew plenty away (and I found it easy) If I am getting other peoples missions I'm certainly not getting any high pitched sounds when I hit them.

If I AM getting other peoples missions then why the hell am I getting shot to pieces by them? We're talking abouth the SECOND mission (locate enemy TIE) here. I'm glad I went through Beta because a Noob would be utterly confused as to what the hell he's supposed to be doing now.

It's either

a) a ridiculous bug.

b) a stupid oversight. invincible "enemies" thatkill you on the SECOND mission ..come on!! I don't give a damn who they "belong" to.

I can't play. simple as that. can't kill ships = can't do missions.

Sorry for the ranting.. I'm not normally agressive.. I just wish I could get it out of my system by shooting a single goddamn ship up.

I'm having exactly the same problem - all was fine in Beta, but now I'm playing the registered version I can't seem to land a hit on any of the mission TIEs (yup I'm reb). Same machine as I lpayed on Beta, same missions.

First I though there were possble changes since beta, 50 or so DEFINITE hits on a TIE makes me think bug. Especially as the B**tard keeps shooting me. I'm fed up of seeing eject sequences.

I very very rarely get to land a hit, but only if they're flying through me. This is SO infuriating. Unplayable.

(and I'm not a general whiner - this is probably the first negative post I've ever made)

"just get someone to help u ..."

I do wish it was that simple these days. All things considered this is one of the best single player games out there, multi-player wise it's been falling short for some time now.

I made it through 3-3-3-3 Rebel Pilot and dropped out to go Freelance, which I'm now 3-3-3-3 as well.

I have never had any trouble hitting an NPC ship, ever.

Things to remember:

1.) Not every ship is one you can attack. You cannot attack someone elses mission sensitive targets under most cricumstances. YOu will get a high pitched error sound when you do.

2.) Shooting the lead indicator is NOT, I repeat, NOT a guaranteed hit. You may have to aim behind for slower targets, and I find myself a full inch and a half ahead of the indicator when shooting at A-Wings.

3.) You still have to make contact with your shots. You can be fifty meters behind a friend, shoot, and still miss. My X-Wing and my Ixiyen have these problems. I was right behind a TIE Advanced, shot three times, and never hit him from under 100m with my crosshairs DEAD on him. (We were both stationary, he was a friend and we were goofing off.) If the energy bursts don't make contact, it's a miss. (the shots themselves seem to have a fair amount of contact radius, but still...with all the rubber-banding happening in outer space, the DEV team might consider a slightly improved hit recognition algorithm)

All in all, JtL is not a simple hit or miss deal, like much everything else SWG'sy. I'll bet you if we duelled and you shot me, I'd take damage. Might wanna try that too just to rule out operator error.
