If you do not want the indicator there is something very simple to do.
Hit...
CTRL+SHIFT+H
That removes everything from your screen so its just your cockpit and whats out there.
I personally love the indicator and think its a great thing for the game. Do not jeopardize others because of your selfish want.

I've noticed that the leading reticle is hardly "pinpoint" accurate, much like an RL heads-up. Rather, it's an approximation of the area needed to be shot. This becomes more evident the higher the tier.
Actually, I've noticed it consistently overshoots - I shoot somewhere short of the lead indicator, and always land better hits.

"It was never ment to be XvT, isn't XvT, and will never be XvT"
If it was more like the X-Wing series then we would have a great game on our hands. All the X-Wing titles, including TIE Fighter (one of the best games of all time, IMO.) are top notch games. If they perhaps teamed up with the developers of those titles then this game would attract an even larger audience, that is almost a guarantee. Being able to control your ships power levels, directing shields to engines, laser to shields, or whatever, was awesome. Learning curve for new players wouldn't be so bad either, plus PvP would be alot more fun.

I'm not giving an opinion on wether to remove it or leave it here, but just a note...please don't compare JtL to XvT. It was never ment to be XvT, isn't XvT, and will never be XvT. It took a long time for some people in beta to realize that. Basically, XvT has been done before. It doesn't need to be done again.
What an idiotic statement - purely idiotic. If somethings been done well, there's no reason to reinvent it. I don't know why XvT is always mentioned, when XWA was much better, IMO.
YES OF COURSE - DO IT LIKE THE CLASSIC STAR WARS SPACE COMBAT SIMS!!! Those were the standard-bearers for years, and JTL is NOT more fun from a flight dynamics POV. Now JTL wants to redefine it just because it's been done before? Bullcrap.

hmm...i agree that x-wing vs TIE fighter was done very very well. I never played XWA, but everyone I know that has played it says it's an incredible game. I see that my statement "doesn't need to be done again" was wrong. This game could probably use some more features from those games.
However, the fact still remains that JtL ISN'T those games...nor, most likely, will it ever be. There was a TON of begging in beta for features to be put in JtL that were from XvT/XWA, but those never happened. The devs never intended this to be the XvT/XWA expansion for SWG, and everything points to towards the idea that they never will.

Zactly, that's what I'm saying. It's not very accurate anyway, so it's subjective at best.

But since they chose to make almost an exact copy of the X wing/Tie Fighter series, then it stands to reason why people would compare them.
Sure the graphics are a little better than x-wing alliance, but overall the gameplay is about the same. Some people like it better, some do not like it as much.
All I can say is thatJTL is more reliant on groups, and that is a good thing in my opinionsince this is an MMO and therefore it +is all about playing with other people.
XvT was more about being a solo game.

WegdeAntillys wrote:the lead helper indicater makes flying and shooting way to easy...there is no judging of where to shoot...it tells it to you...its not like Xwingvs T fighter...there u had to geuse were u had to shoot and if you were right it would make a blip and turn green when evr u would shoot and it would hit it...this recticle thing makes it WAY to easy to flyi say take it down or atleast make no where near as accurate as it is now...who evr said it gives u an idea of where to shoot was only telling a half truth...its 90% accurate most of the time...im not trying to flame but the combat would be alot more interesting if u made it different
Better yet, take it off WegdeAntillys client but leave it on everyone else's.
