The Firespray used to bePrivateer-only, but everyone else complained. Guess they had to give all the Jedi and Dark Jedi what they want, eh? =)

I knew it was only a matter of time before everyone started complaining about how "gimped" their profession in JTL is. People give it a rest! Each profession is designed to have strengths and weaknesses and Privateer is meant to be a little harder to play than the two faction pilot careers. The freaking expansion JUST came out and most of you probably havn't even begun to understand how your ships work so don't immediately blame mass restrictions for the reason why you're gimp.

Why privateers aren't up in arms is beyond me. And this is just the mass issues.

God, just... you... AAAAAAAAAARGGGG!!! People aren't up in arms because its really not that big an issue. LEARN TO PLAY the game instead of trying to change it so you can win easier. I'm a privateer and I don't see this mass limitation as something that's going to keep me from being competative (or dare i say it, superior) with other professions. You work around it. It realistic to think that privateer vessles would not be as tuned for war as ships of the Imperial Navy. Duh. The devs blended balance with continuity when they designed this system. It works as intended you just need to make choices. If you want ships with mass and better pilot abilities: go Rebel. There I just solved your problem. NEXT!

There was a sentiment among the beta testers that the YT-1300 should be a Smuggler-only ship and the Firespray be a BH-only ship...not bad ideas, since Smugglers get jipped bad in the ground game and Bounty Hunters almost as much.

Yeah, I can understand that. But just because a famous smuggler flew a YT, and a famous BH flew a Firespray, doesn't mean they should only be flown by those factions. Personally I think the Firespray should be removed completely, as Boba Fett owns the only one in existence. I guess it's too late for that now though.YT-1300 is where it should be though, as it is a civilian craft. No one will be flying combat in them, because they can't take anymore abuse than another fighter with the same equipment, but they're here if you want to . . . I dunno . . . cruise

Except for the fact that the point of JTL is that your ground profession and skills have NO bearing on your space combat experience. (Not to mention the fact that in the "real" star wars galaxy those ships were not specific to any pilot class or faction.)

Give everyone their bloody YT-1300, but at least give me a YT-2400

And does anyone else agree that the Firespray is actually a bad design for a ship? I know its cool looking, but if you ever have the chance to fight one, I have taken down 20+ Tier4s myself, they present quite a large target from either the front or the back of the ship. I have 3x more trouble shooting down Y-Wings, which are not difficult than I do with firesprays.

/shrug Whatever pleases the masses I guess.

I do remember hearing about the YT being a common pool at first, and i was glad, because in game i am a rebel and I did want to stay that way in space, but as Im also a smuggler, and my reason for that was i wanted a YT in the first place, so I just stayed freelance. Also, in my opinion the freelance ships are great just as they have it. The weight is easily worked around as was commented before. Im only on teir 2 with a teir 1 dunelizard, but in my opinion, its a very well balanced ship with the way i have it. I will agree the special abilities seem slightly gimped, but thats worked aroudn with better weapon and sheild systems teehee I do also have to agree that they really shouldnt have put a restriction on the ships at all, everyone should be able to fly them. I can see keeping the tie's to imps only, but other wise, they should all be common. Maybe out a bonus to flying a ship of your alliegence, such as being rebel flying an x-wing and getting a bonus to execuiting a command or using ship functions faster. But all in all I like the way freelance is set up, and i wouldnt be a rebel pilot unless i had no other choice. Although, i probly should have gone with the smugglers guild cuz i wanna hold up the smuggler persona but, jabba -4378, Nym +3000, corsec+5000 so ummm ya i just thought it would go a wee bit faster lol. And yes the black sun ship does sound like it would be an amazing master lvl ship, i wish they would toss it in there, or at least the ability to customize a ship to its standards.

The Firespray wasn't unique to the Fetts...it's a common ship design. Slave One, however, was unique, as it was a custom-modified Firespray-class ship. Like the Millennium Falcon was a modified YT-1300. The Firespray is actually intended to be a two-man law enforcement patrol craft used for extended-period system patrols. And, from what I remember, it had a hardpoint for twin-linked blaster cannons and two missile racks. Certainly not the ubercraft that only a master pilot would be able to handle...

It was for a fact . . at least at this point in the timeline. There was a prototype that Jango Fett stole, and the other models were destroyed in the incident. I'm not real clear on EU stuff, but the fact remains, Boba had the only one in the galaxy. But I digress. It's here, so no real point in debating =/

Oh. =) Guess that's a different in source material. In the X-Wing/TIE Fighter games and the SW pen-and-paper game, the Firespray is a few years old, maybe a couple decades old, by the time the GCW starts. It's already falling out of favor because it's not up to par with newer, better ship designs.

That's what I'm thinking . . . The dev's gave in to people who wanted every ship in the frickin' expansion. I'm surprised they didn't give everyone YT's as well

SHHHHHH!!!!! Damn, dood, they'll hear ya....

The fact that Jango has a Firespray in Episode II would indicate that by this point in the time line (after Episode IV before Episode V) it would be extremely likely that this is a common ship. By this point Boba has grown from being a child of maybe 10 or 11 to at least being 20 or so (we never see his face so hard to tell but he is full grown. in that amount of Time I would think that even if a prototype was stolen the ship would have come into mass production.

Yeah, there are different sources on this. I mean, I remember the firesprays from X-Wing Alliance, but I've also heard from EU fans a different story. So really, I have no idea . . . and I don't think SOE knows either.
