Well kept me occupied for oh 12-15 hours play time but as usual with swg completely lacking in content. Should of been a free upgrade if you ask me, not enough in it to justify paying for it.
Wish the courier would hurry up with my copy of EQ2

Personally I love it. Lag is really an issue though. If a gsp server in BHD can keep a steady ping of 80 w 50 people there is no reason can't get the pings down to a better level. The main reason is it causes my guilt to get together and run missions. I know this will die down once the are all master but it really is great having a reason to do stuff as a group, ie taking out the corvett.
I do think they should have had another month of beta to smooth out MORE of the bugs.
But like I said overall I do enjoy it.
ps
The players in pvp also seem a lot more polite in space.

The game engine is great, the graphics are great and the ships are great - the main problem I see is that the gameplay style doesn't suit many player's wishes adequately and it seems most people don't think JTL is flexible enough for a longlasting online play experience.
check out my idea and bump it so the devs can see it (BTW this is the fist time I've ever tried to get the DEVs attention with a post, please help! it's a great Idea 8).
It's a clever/simple idea to allow for longevity of gameplay and maximum enjoyment for everyone - all the way from n00b to l33t.

i feel that they had to bring it out now rather than later due to the fact of other mmorg coming out , however I would have to say to the people who grind master pilot out in 2 days or so . where is the fun in that . I am taking my time and i am enjoying it , yes i now content is lacking however that is something that they are probobly working on .

Loving it personally. It's everything (well, almost everything) they promised it would IMO.
The thing is, I was never really interested in the ground game (on it's own) and even less so with the "Everybody wears composite, buffs, and runs a melee heavy template".
Now, I try not to soil the soles of my boots if I dont' have to.
I left for quite a while and came back - skeptical - but I had to see for myself... and I was very pleased with what I found.

1. The graphics are awesome.
I agree with this one, awesome graphics.
2. The zones are too small.
Yes, but they will expand them, just probably not as fast as we would like them too. I can still live with that.
3. The lag - twitchinessduring flight is aggreviating even with a powerful computer and a cable modem.
Hmmm, I have a mid range computer with cable internet and I experience 0 lag in space. I have some noticeable lag on the ground but only in the cities.
4.The loot is more powerful than what can be crafted so Shipwrights are barely needed.
I agree with this but as of now, unless you are a millionaire, no one can afford anything from a shipwright. So until greed in the this game goes away the better loot needs to stay in.
5.There is no condition on weapons/armor so the Shipwright population will soon dwindle like the Architects did.
I cannot comment on this one as I don't know that much about crafting.
6. To easy. Everyone is becoming Master Aces way too fast. It should have lasted alot longer.
The only people getting master that quick are people with this must grind as much as possible with no sleep or rest to get master before anyone else attitude.
In all, I like it but it will get old fast. So its back to the ground doing Imperial and Janta missions.
You do know that doing Janta missions will no longer give you those huge payouts as they have finally found a solution to the solo group problem that has inflated this economy to the point of no return.

I personally really like JTL but I think it will get tired after less than a month. In my opinion they seriously made a huge mistake by not having any missions after master and also by not having things like space station interiors or capital ship interiors that you could dock with. Boarding missions would have been totally awesome. One can only hope that they add this within the next month or two.
They allready have at least three interior models that can be used for space stations and capital ships.
- The noob tutorial for a space station.
- Corellian corvette for a nice boarding mission.
- The lucky despot cantina was originally a spaceship that crashed on Tatooine, why not fix up the exterior and make it into a large neutral vessel that can be boarded and such.
That's three space interiors that can be added with a small ammount of effort on the devs part and if they allow players to dock their ships together with multipassangerships as well then JTL would be awesome indeed.

I hated this game in beta, but when the release of retail its the first time in a long time I have really put this many hours back into SWG. Kinda reminds me of the old days, the days I always talk about with friends and remind myself.. I MISS THOSE DAYS! I guess its because its new, but I am really enjoying it.. Dont know what I am gonna do after I do both my accts to ace, and I am close to that now

well as i said in another post .... C'ya ... dont wanna be ya...
I have canceld one and are about to cancel my last account, mostly because of the forced PvP mission.
So happy i finnaly have most of the things settled in the game now, spent the last few days cleaing up in my house, bank and inventory. have a Vendor whit most of my stuff out for grabs 1c a piece for those that are in my guild.
The new patch that is coming whit the perma overt thing, even after clining combined whit JTL mission have made me make up my mind... im out.
And yay... i hope the door hitt me on the way out
And im NOT gona play EQ as it is annother SOE product, just seeing what this game has turbed into makes me sick of the whole SOE product line.
And JYL is nothing more than nice rappings,no content exept a few mission until your master.
They would have been betteroff fixing the ground game,GCW and all the bugg's. instead the releasase a half finnished game. bah at SOE
Ahh... nothing feel's as good as hitting that cancel subscription button

The biggest problem I have with JTl is the fact it adds no real content to the game as a whole. It is great for those who PvP, don't get me wrong. But for everyone else, it's a waste of time. Before you all get on me, hear me out...
There is no decay on parts, but as you repair components they're stats get reduced, so the idea that Shipwrights are useless is a bit overstated, but not too far off. They're only needed to get the Firespray schematic!! Otherwise, as was stated before, the loot is better than what current Shipwrights can craft.
There is no added content for any other profession in the game. If someone can point out something advantageous to another profession, please let me know! All artisans (minus Shipwrights) are left out with no space mining abilities. Combat professions are useless obviously. Jedi can fly with no death penalties. There's no BH content. The smuggler revamp MIGHT add something for them, but that's a ways off.
My suggestions (and I hope the devs read this)are to
1. Allow player-run space stations that act as mini cities. They can repair ships, include vendors, allow for mining colonies (a la Cloud City of Bespin, though that was within the planet's atmosphere), and /or have battle arenas for the combat professions (even though it would still be a PvP-style content).
2. Include space critters. There were nasties living on and around the asteroids in ESB, so why not here. You can then have an astromech created for organic space harvesting.
By doing this, you now have many if not all the other professions included in JTL. The space resources could add bonuses to the items they craft. Heck, the resources could be used to allow things like the ability to craft DOT weapons, change the damage types of certain other weapons (Blast damage VKs anyone???), or improve armor defenses with little impact to the encumbrance. Maybe increase the effectiveness of certain meds, reduce the filling of certain foods, or create new BE clothing.
These are just thoughts. And I'm not saying JTL is bad, but it was a lot of work for little overall content. Had it included say two new planets (GIVE US HOTH!), then I MIGHT not be making this post.

I guess it all depends on one's point of view. I love it, the expansionitself is content. I very much look forward to the ground combat revamp, but look how the first step was taken by the comunity (no more solo groups), you will allways find people with a different point of view. (step up on box) That is what makes the human race (rl) such a wonderful thing. (step off of box).
