I was at 1/2/1/1 and decided to take on some tier 3 NPC ships (forget what they were..lol) flying around Tatooine. I was fairly successful for awhile racking up 1400 or more xp until I ran into a hornet's nest of 4 to 5 of them at once. Managed to evade and kill a couple but shields and rear armor coming dangerously low. Decided to engage hyperdrive and continue evasion...the sweat was literally dripping on my forehead and my palms were sweaty...watched the countdown and prayed as I saw my shields and armor slowly dwindle down, evading and firing...4, 3, 2, 1....the jump screen came on and I saw my ship dart into space...my heart was literally thumping in my chest....after coming out of hyperspace near Naboo, limped to the station with just a few pts on my armor...but, a big smile on my face. I am finally living Star Wars!

Sounds exciting Jawa! The close calls and near misses really make it nerve wracking...=)

Dookay, how do you get to Kessel? I don't see it appear on my maps. Is it faction only?

Great story too btw...Enjoyed reading it...

Definitely the packed dog fights with Imperial Tie-Fighters.

Feels very "Star Warsy" to me.

As an Imperial you go out to Endor and enter via the "Deep Claw Space Station" as a Rebel, it's via the "Deep Space Station" in Dantooine. I am unsure where Neutral flyers go, perhaps someone can enlighten.

Wow... that is so exciting. You must have a great time in this game. I am not very good at the space battle part.. but if you ever want a partner let me know.

If I remember right its Yavin system there is some station along the lines of "deepspace station" or something.

My best expierence? Well it was during one of the novice missions. I was told to escort a rebel frieghter out of the system. We didnt get very far before I see 3 tie fighters comming in to attack. I quickly punch the throttles forward and meet them head on. I turned about to get on ones tail and took him out in a few shots, I began meanuevering around the frieghter to get a clear shot at another Tie and soon he was nothing but space debri. The third tie proved to be more of a challenge, we twisted and turned around that frieghter for about 3 minutes every time I would get a clear shot I would only have time to get off 1-2 blasts. I eventually shot him down but after I really felt like I was "in" starwars. That battle reminded me of the battle above endor in RotJ with all the fighters twisting and turning around the rebel transports.

Another would have to be when I completed my last tier 3 mission solo. I couple guildies offered to help but I had to prove to myself I could do it and I did.

And the last would be when I killed my first tier 4 aggresor solo. I waited untill my shields and armor were pretty much gone his shields where down to about 40% armor 90% and I successfully IFF spoofed him and left and hit emergency shields. Once all systems where functioning again I came charging straight at him firing 2 mark III proton missles at a time as fast as I could (was in my Ywing LP) and finally got his turret disabled. After that it was cake walk just made sure I kept a lead on him took out his engines then blasted him into space dust.

Two experiences:

Here's my story, I'm grinding for my Tier 4 boxes in Kessel. I am taking out a few rebel gunboats in my TIE Advance, and after my second kill I notice a rebel pilot nearby, I quickly target through everyone nearby and I realise that I am facing a full squadron of PC rebel players. I decide to grab the bull by the horns and switch my power to weapons, I come in low under the first target, a Y-wing and lay into him with my blasters, his shields flare, and collapse and I stay on his tail as he tries to turn with a second salvo his engines are gone and I see the pilot away. I target again and realize that the rebel A-wing, the only ship there that could out maneuver me is turning down, and only 200 meters away, I cut power and turn upwards firing into the belly of the A-wing before he can aim down, that's two. Third target is an X-wing he knows I am here and is turning toward me I cut in low under the arc of his cannons (which could take me apart) and fire into his tail, his shields hold as he turns around trying to get me into his firing range, I cut power and turn to fire right into his cockpit, and empty two full salvos. Two left, first is another Y-wing, he fires a salvo at me but it glances off my back shields, I don't want to chance a missile which could destroy me outright, or even another salvo of laser fire which would collapse my shields, (And since I have no armor probably end my flight) so I accelerate under his craft, and turn upwards as his bulky ship lazily tries to come in line. I have all the time in the world to dump my blasters into him. Finally there is another X-wing, being hassled by two NPC TIEs, I feel almost guilty as I line up with his side and take him out.

Later I am in Kessel on my Master Mission, (Destroy the Corvette) and me and 4 or 5 guildmates are tearing through the escorts and picking the guns off the Vette, when one of us goes down, over my mic I hear him yell, "Rebels, player rebels, behind us." There is some frantic dogfighting and we lose two more of our group, but I pick off one rebel X-wing, and a B-wing. Suddenly I hear one of our pilots yell, "It's all down, Dookay, just take out the bridge." I turn to fire on the head of the Corvette when I hear my missile lock engaged, Boom, my ship is toasted by a Player X-wing, frantically we regroup at the outpost and prepare, and as we hyper in I hear profanity, and I enter into a scene of chaos. The rebels are waiting at the entrance, I dodge some fire and manage to take out a Y-wing but not before his missile took me apart. Frantically I am trying to hyper back in before the Corvette bails as our pilots and the Rebels engage in furious dogfighting just inside the Kessel region. I hyper back in and take out a player X-wing then myself and a guildmate, who managed to kill virtually the entire ambush single handed, limp to the Corvette, and dump our payloads into the bridge. As the ship went down I felt good about the whole conflict.

Might I acknowledge here my fellow Imperial pilots, who helped me with the Corvette: Karabas, Drabba, Turtle, Zephyr, and anyone I forgot.

Also the diligent foes who made these missions a thrill: Kibs, Protofish, Seek, and all those others who I've traded blaster fire with.

My favorite story so far is from when I was 0101, in my little Scyk killing Black Sun in Tatooine. I managed to pull a few of them into a group of those "Commerce Raiders" in the Z-95s, which quickly devolved into me doing more bobbing and weaving than shooting; it's hard to dogfight when there's at least 8, maybe 10 enemies on you.

I did manage to take out most of them, but had to run. They took out my shields, my armor, my blasters, my boosters, put my reactor nearly to nil, and I was still dodging, waiting for the hyperspace counter to finish. The eject button was on and screaming for quite a while, but I wasn't going to push it.

I hypered out just before the last missile was about to strike. I limped into the space station at a whopping speed 94 with no shields, armor, boosters or weapons. Took quite a while too.

Was 5 people in a group, trying to get my neutral mission done - hijack an freighter and then defend it from some waves of enemy fighters.

Felt great tbh, one of our group members had a slow ship, so she was the rear guard, while the rest of us 4 took an guarding position on each side of the freighter using matchspeed - at each wave, "Tally Ho!!" and we're fighting, best fun sofar i had, great time overrall and am looking forward to more of this
