Thread: I Would Like An Honest Answer from the DEV's

May I? Because it's not in your scope of expertise. It does not make sense for someone who makes personal protective equipment to also make vehicular armor.
That's like asking the makers of kevlar vests to form the steel for armored car services.
They simply don't.
see...this is where I'm going to have to prove you wrong....In your example of the makers of Kevlar (which is DuPont) not making armoured car services...you are incorrect...they do in fact make armoured composites for the following:
• Aircraft Structural Body Parts and Cabin Panels
• Boats
• Sporting Goods
So that my good sir...disproves your answer....sorry.
While DuPont as a company might be involved in different sectors, the employees as such are not. Therefore a shipwright and and armoursmith, while employed by the same company, do not perform the same role.
It would be silly to assume that DuPont has only one mechanical engineer who designs their aircraft structural parts or a hockey helmet.

I am very simpathetic for smugglesr, they got shafted...well, they have always been shafted, tailors got screwed to, sure some new Ithy clothes is nice, that's the same for A.S and Ithy armour...it's not really new, just our normal armour with different names, nothing really new...
I could do without making shields for ships, all I'm really trying to say is that S.W is pretty much the only crafting profession that isn't dependant on another crafting profession, A.S need tailors and Master Artisans, Tailors,Chefs and Docsneed BE's, Arch's need DE's....see where I'm going with this.
Good point, although pilots need both SW and DE's to be most effective, and I'm not sure that Weaponsmiths need anything from another crafting profession (but to make the rarer guns they do not special loot from combat-types).
I can see where the armor enhancement peices or weapon enhancement pieces should have been made by Armorsmiths or Weaponsmiths. Not the actual armor, mind you, but the pieces that are optional and make it lighter/stronger. This way a SW can still function (much like Chefs/Tailors who don't use BE additives), but are only most effective when using parts from another profession.
That would have made a lot of sense and made the game more interdependent. Again, good point you bring up.

asked and answered already.
I wrote: Weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths already are the 'godly' crafter professions and the richest. They don't 'need' anything from shipwright to 'succeed'. It's time to spread the wealth outside of these two professions.
