it goes good fire power, decent durability but poor manuverability and low top speed. It is a support craft but cannot generally excel at ship to ship combat. If it is grouped with escorts the Y-wing is dangerous.

they are buckets of crap... with the exception of an ion cannon, and more room for missles/bombs, the z-95 even destroys it in every category.

That ship ROX!!
LMAO, no there not, my "affectionate" nick name for them in all of the space sims was flying coffin. I hated Y-wings. There slow, unmanuverable, and dont have that much firepower. Give me an x-wing or b-wing anyday

I am sure people will want B-wings but there is the thing, it is unlikely B-wings will be available at launch. It seems likely the pilot will either needa high-level cert, or considerable FP, or maybe both, to acquire one. At some point rebs will be flying something they don't want any parts of and knowing the devs, rebel pilots may have little choice. We shall see.

You're probably right, the B-Wing and Tie/D will probably be faction requisitioned ships only(ie not crafted)... however I do think they'll be in the game at launch.

The Y-wing is a clunker of a ship. Slow, dull, easy to hit....all it has going for it is that itcan takea beating.

Funny how people are judging the ships in this game and nobody really knows anything about them apart from whats been known in the past. This is a different game to the x wing series, i'll leave judgement till i've played the game.

It's a POS in rouge squadron, II, and III which is nothing like XvT or XWA. I doubt it matters.

the ywing is a multi role fighter it is slower but can take more of a beating. it is the workhorse of the rebellion and its old but still going. it can take a tie on if the pilots smart but their made to work in squadrons. if a tie and a ywing did a head to head run which was a tactic used alot the ywing would win cus it take more punishment and has the shields. the tie does not it has a ball ...thats about it and unforunately in a head to head run it has transparisteel in the front not really armor....course will any of this matter in the game no cus im sure they gonna give ties shields and stuff.....
but im still planning on getting a ywing
i love that ship its just sooo cool if youre a ricer youll love the xwing if your a hotrod guy like me something bout a classic vehicle with huge exposed engines does something for ya
