I have dodged missiles in my dunelizard and my kihraxz.
You have to visually located it. Then get in a head on turning battle like you do with the higher light fighters. Proper booster usage will send it over your head everytime, until in stops coming. The timer is a little too long beofre it stop coming though.

I wanted to comment on this earlier, but for the example with modern aircraft and missiles, it's not a good comparison. Reason being is that fighters in the air cannot manuever as fast as those in space. Missiles have no problems with the air cause they are so small, therefore there isn't much of a difference between manuevering in air and in vaccum for them.
Once again, especially for you who cut and pasted the info on the counter-measures, I will point to XWA as to how missiles should be handled. There were still counter-measures in it, especially for those pesky concussion missiles, but the torpedos weren't a problem. Also, you could target the missile, not only so you knew where it was coming from, but so you could shoot it down, too.
For you who mentioned the afterburners, that's good to hear. However, the slower ships (Y-wing, etc) should be the only ships that really require the use of that method. The others should be able to handle it on their own engines if the pilot reacts fast enough.

I suspect it was just easyer to Dev this way. Maybe they also wanted to keep piloting somthing non flight/flight sim people could be competitive in. I personally dont like the fact that i cant out manuver missels no matter what i do, or that my manuvering doesnt effect enemy blaster accuracy as much as it should. But hey we got AI that flys in circles, what can ya expect from SOE. The game has allot of potential, guess time will tell.

To make a run of 100 FF Confuser packs (4 crates of 25) will require 100k steel and 25k metal to make. That is almost enough resources to make 1 tier 5 ship.
