Wow. My first post with an overall one-star. Cool
!
Is this attitude representative of everyone on this forum? I hope not.
Please read my original post. I was very nice. It explained that I had no luck in the trade forums. That I had had no luck on other boards where this post might be more appropriate. I read the sticky. I had also asked around in-game. The people I know in game referred me to several vendors. They were empty. I stated this above also.
Here's how I look at it: I read the sticky, but this was an ARMORSMITH question. Who uses armorsmith vendors? No one but armorsmiths. Who better to ask where some resources might be found. I exhausted all other SWG sponsored avenues of getting the question answered and asked politely for some help. Too funny.
I managed to get an answer from a non-SWG forum where, although the post wasn't really on topic, someone answered my question in a helpful manner.
I DID manage to grind master armorsmith, without assistance from here. Don't think I'll be contributing much here as a result.
Unlike what is obviously the prevailing attitude here, I would like to invite any newer folks grinding armorsmith to please feel free to send any questions you may have, either via the message system here or via ingame tell/mail.
Need to be a bit more helpful folks. Have a great day
.

I don't think I displayed any "attitude" in my posts. I was simply pointing out that, according to the sticky post, this forum is meant for discussing AS issues, not trade issues.

Right - you showed no attitude in the post, but it was quite evident by the one-star from you or whoever gave it lol. Bottom line is that, I recognized this was a trade forum question - got absolutely no response there. Here, I did get a response - recommending I take action that I alread HADOr anywhere. Including here.

Sorry - hit wrong key

My only question really is that, if someone can't get a question somewhere else, and that question is directly related to armorsmith, what are they to do? Obviously don't ask here I suppose.
Thanks again,

Well, for the record, I didn't hand out any 1-stars. I can understand what you're saying, and not debating the validity of your question, but we the posters don't make the rules around here. No real sense arguing about this is all I'm saying.

What part of...
...is so hard to understand?
Now that that is out of the way, I will try to explain why the crafting boards need to have this rule. Last I counted, there were 26 servers in SWG. Can you imagine what the traffic would be like in this forum if people tried to buy and sell from there server here?
Now, I understand that you asked on your trade forum, and didnt get much of a response (actually, someone did respond that they had everything you needed except the fiberplast), but this still isnt the place to be posting about buying or selling resources.

Do not post looking to buy, looking to sell or pricing questions on this forum. Ask on your trade board for your galaxy!

Hehe - another one! didn't consider this as a "looking to buy question." I was asking whether you knew of any good venders that YOU used in the past. To me it was informational, not looking to buy. I understand now that you have no desire to answer such questions, even if the best source of answer is in this forum. Was it really necessary to quote the sticky again as I explicitly noted I had alredy read it?
Hope you community "veterans" can see the real point here now. As stated previously, I can't imagine how I could have been nicer in my question, which at the time was very important to me. I explained the situation - needed the resources quickly, no one had responded at the time I posted here. You are right, you thorough researcher you - someone did respond at a later time.
However, I will accept I made a mistake and that my post was inappropriate. The unacceptable attitude of the board seems to be the issue now lol. This is how you treat newcomers? lol - then you BETTERJust take a look at the most recent looking to buy poste (today, titled "Need an Ahazi Armorsmith").

Well, you stated in your original thread that you were sorry to turn this into a trade board. So I have to assume you knew that you were going against the rules when you posted it. Either way, you were looking to buy griding resources...which is hardly a question about armorsmithing, and again not the best place to put the question (which would be your specific trade forum.)

Apparently so since you read it and decided to post your question anyways. Look, if you want to go against the forum rules, you are going to have to accept the consequences.

Go ahead, ask an Armorsmithing question, you will get a much favorable attitude. Ask me what my best stats are, ask me how I make my layers, ask me which resources are better, ask me which hides drop from where. ASK ME AN ARMORSMITHING QUESTION!
And you stated, "But I am having a heck of a time finding things on vendors lately (not just resources) - most are out of everything or have very little in stock. Also have had no luck with posts to the trade board." yet you waited a whole 2 hours after your post on your trade forum before asking here. I would hardly say that you had no luck yet, you just didnt give it time.
Normally, I wouldnt spend this much time, but you state that you know this isnt the place to put such a post...yet do it anyways. Then you come back after the thread was dead for 2 weeks and complain that it was 1 starred (which makes perfect sense since it has nothing to do with Armorsmithing), and then attack us because we arent friendly? And every post up to yours lacked any kind of personal attack or attitude.

Well since ive no idea if theres an "ideas page" and i cant find one then this is where im going to post this (sorry is not about JTL)
I would like to see regular people able to set up a vendor in thier house and not just have it for the craftsmen or people that use up a whole ton of points just to be able to. I dont need a ton of vendors or various fancy ones that say something whenever a person enters the house just your basic run of the mill vendor. If everyone in the game could just have even just one vendor I think that that would be awesome. right now theres only two ways for the average joe to sell stuff, one is to use the bazaar which only lets you sell stuff up to 6k crs, and two to stand in front of a starport for quite possibly HOURS just to sell one thing (or more). Whats so fun about those?
Here are some things that could be restrictive for the average joe to have a vendor.
1) have to buy a deed to get the vendor. have it cost around 10k-20k (or less
)
2) have the maintenance cost double to triple what it would cost for someone takeing the skill trees.
3) limit the amount of items your able to put up to about what the bazaar will let ya, 24-25 i think it is.
4) only one allowed PER char. (so you can set up in multiple houses)
5) the amount of time that the item will stay in vendor to be sold about the same or half of what bazaar lets ya.
6) have the amount of items count towards your bazaar item limit ( tho not sure about this one but would put up with it if i had to).
I would easily put up with all of these restrictions if it would let me sell stuff for the price that i want instead of relying solely on hours of yelling time or a bazaar that only lets ya sell stuff for max of 6k.

I say no. Vendors are a luxury reserved for people who sell. To give everyone vendors would be like giving everyone a novice elite skill for free. Artisans have to work to get their vendors, just like TKA's have to work to get Meditation. Even suggesting what you're suggesting would be met with overwhelming opposition.
Options:
1. Get Busines 3 and have your one vendor. If it's too much to invest in, you shouldn't be selling. (you're not a businessman so why would you sell?)
2. Find a Merchant who will lease you a vendor. I used to do this when I was a Merchant. I either charged a flat fee(around 10k a month I think), or I received 5% of their sales.
To ask for free vendors with no work to get them is well, ignorant.
