Thread: The OFFICIAL Don't Ruin Kessel Petition

IRL an Ace is someone who has won dog fights against 5 other pilots. You don't deserve this title if you're not willing to earn it.

How many times do we have to reiterate overtness is a lost cause, GIVE IT UP.
About as many times as the PvEers have to remind you that forced PvP is a lost cause?

Well I think there could be some other way of fixing this. Freelance pilots shouldn't be forced to PvP anywhere. Choosing to bean Alliance fighter or an Imperial fighter should effectively be a choice made with the knowledge that you're consenting to PvP. Already there are fair too many Rebels who aren't actually rebelling. They just like seeing purple names. It's pathetic.

1 there is no "Fighter Ace" title
2. Ace means master pilot, it means you completed the PvE tasks, it does not require you to be shot at or shoot at any Player it only was in a PvP zone. You did not have to kill any players to get it.
3. Master Pilot is not a PvP title it never was it never will.
4. PvP is optional the Devs told us that from day one, and now they are living up to that.
Kessel should be a PvP zone, but the master missionis not be subject to PvP.
People who want to CHOOSE to PvP or not and dont want to be forced into PvP to complete an advancement mission, those people are the majority.

You have yet to prove that Slarus. I like how you try to come off as the authority on player statistics.
What you should have said is that "those players are the majority of the whiners and complainers."

Where is one iota of eveidence to support this?
Covert operatives exsist IRL, however in this game both PC and NPC are just enemy combatants, period.
Covert Reb and Imps are just fine, they are legal and encouraged and you don't have to PvP to be either. You got PvP on the brain, and can't distinguish there is a difference of opinion.

I actually disagree with you on this one. Factioned members in the GCW (even in space) should face the threat of PvP at all times. That doesn't mean they have to be overt all the time, but they could make the Inspection command useful by allowing members of opposing sides try to root out covert adversaries. Granted, they would need to loosen the rules about which ships you can use as it would be a dead giveaway the way things are now, but the possibilities are still there.
I personally believe covert members on both sides, in space and on the ground, should face the same risks as rebels face in Imperial occupied towns where a random trooper can 'out' you even when it's not convenient...
If they're not the majority, why aren't there more of them running around overt? It seems to me, if they like being subjected to PvP while trying to do their missions, they can choose to do it at any time... yet I never see any. I wonder why that is?

Well the Devs from as far published date as summer 2001 in Star Wars Gamer did not agree with you, PvP was choice then and remained that way until release and after that. You simply are not living in the reality that a loose PvP or all PvP MMO is not as popular as have the power to choose. Is it as realistic as it could be, of course not, but if it was ALL combat would be one or two hits to kill a person, it is rare someone doesn't drop after being shot just once. We can go all around about all kinds of things that dont jive IRL, but this is a game.
The Devs did a great job in giving a GCW without forcing people to PvP, it give EVERY player choice, is it realistic nope but that wasn't the point.
City of Heroes was crowned PC/Console Game of the Year and Multiplayer Game of the Year, ZERO PvP

No, I live completely within the reality of how this game is run. I'm not, nor have I ever, advocated all-out PvP. I realize not everyone is interested and the Devs, in their infinite wisdom, realized that too which is why we have neutrals. Your comment about the GCW was almost too funny to handle. The GCW, for all points and purposes, is one of the most broken systems in this game. There IS no GCW with everyone running around covert except the Jedi (who can't). In the concept of this game, the Devs opinion was (from the beginning) that the choice not to be involved in PvP was the choice you made when you decided to give up neutrality and join a side in the war. Maybe you should look back at the older posts again and join the reality...
