This is not a slap to StarNick at all, but do you honestly think that you would not have been re-accepted as Commando Correspondant right when we needed you the most?

Yeah...I heard it was coming last week...And while I hate to lose my Correspondent forum access, I can understand why it's happening...Look at how many Correspondents have quit even in the last year...That's a lot of Blue Glowies...And, something not many folks know (but TH did say was ok to talk about), Correspondents now also have set 6 month terms (at the end of which they can reapply or move on to Blue Glowie status). These 6 month term rulestarted just over 4 months ago so we'll be seeing a lot more Blue Glowies popping up in May (one of the reasons I resigned when I did was because I figured my term would have been up DURING CU testing, which would have looked really weird for me to step down then). With so many Blue Glowies out there, this makes things pretty crowded in the Correspondent forum where focus NEEDS to be on Correspondent issues (seems like there are more Blue Glowies making posts in the Corr Forum then Correspondents these days).
I thought about that...but then there were also other reasons I resigned...I wanted to give other Commandos a chance to be our correspondent and I wanted to open up another slot on the Sandbox for us. When the time comes for Starnick to step down, I might consider reapplying if folks still want me OR I might sit back another 6 months...Just because I'm not the Correspondent that doesn't mean I won't stay involved and won't keep trying to make an impact...The loss of blue glowie access to the Correspondent forum hurts that impact a bit, but it also just means I'll have to be a bit louder in the public areas again...

I guess you got your reasons (one probably being the ridiculous amount of time and energy needed for this voulnteer position). It is just great to see you still active on the boards and in general. I have seen other Blue Glowies get drained and when not in the center of it anymore, get discouraged and leave (or just not post as much quantity/quality wise like during their Corr days), Jester comes to mind, I thought he was an excellent correspodant in basically what was/is a dungeon of flaming.
Anyways, with StarNick I have learned a new language that my wife hates! ![]()

So like I said, I don't like losing my access, but at the same time, I don't fee like it's a "slap in the face"...just wish there was a better route we could have taken but I totally understand the reasons for it.
Ok, that's good, but I wish you could stay in there since we all know what great effort you keep making for all of us.
On a side note of my own, do YOU honestly think that there will be a Sandbox? And do YOU honestly think (your honest opinion) that there is enough time to test both the ALL IMPORTANT, and game saving, imho, CURB and some dorky expansion? I honestly don't, but maybe I'm just being pesimistic.

To be honest...and this is ONLY my opinion here and not based on anything anyone has said...the longer we go without Alpha testing starting the more I feel like we'll likley be jumping straight into BetaOR Alpha will last only a couple of days prior to Beta starting...
My greatest fear is that we are going to see JTL all over again...Many of us remember that the Combat Revamp was originally suppose to happen before JTL...then at the same time...Then after JTL...I'm worried that could happen with this new expansion release as well...BUT on a positive note, the new expansion is being marketed as being connected to the new CU changes, so that helps me to feel a bit more optimistic that they won't push the CU beyond the expansion release (otherwise I'd feel like there marketing info was incorrect and an incentive to buy the expansion was not true)...We all know that the CU is going to be free and come out at the same time as the Expansion, but the expansion is being hinted at by the marketing to work WITH the CU changes.

Comparing JTL to the latest expansion is like comparing a 50 story building to a 2 floor house. Space introduced a whole new game mechanic (the idea that you can travel in any direction and fight in real time like any other combat flight simulator but on the level of a MMO)...
The new expansion just introduces a new planet and a ton of new quests...I don't think testing of the new expansion will be that difficult and the more people testing, I think the quicker will will go...It's the CU testing that will take time. I'd rather see it postponed then rushed out. The only hope I have is the idea that, while we are not on the Sandbox yet, testing has been going on for awhile internally and some if not all of the bigger bugs are already worked out...This would just leave us with making "balances"...If all goes well, I believe a lot of the balancing could take up to 2 weeks (a week of internal balancing and a week of testing that balancing against other templates)...
Personally, at least for me, I'm not going to be there for testing the new expansion...100% of my focus is going to be on the CU changes. I don't want to hear "boy I wish we caught that back then...now we have to wait in line again to fix what go broke or left behind via the CU"....
I agree, if i get into beta, then I'm giving 100% to CU. I don't have much interest in the expansion.
As far as the expansion goes, whatever, give it 2 weeks of testing, my concern is with CU. If our role will just be of balancing, then ok, should be fine. If it goes beyond that, then my fear is that we will see history repeat itself, and we will be back at square one. Anyway, here's hoping for the best.

OK, my friend, but do you honestly think, even if Sandbox started today, that there is enough time to test the CURB? In all seriousness we are practically in April, and this is supposed to be released to LIVE on May 5 ( or 9th, I can't remeber). I think JTL was longer, and regular publishes used to be a couple weeks. Anyway . . .
