Makes me wanna cry that people are leaving . . . but who could blame you? It's like I was saying . . . before it's over, everyone will be rebel or Imp. When you have an entire profession that becomes undesirable due to balance, something needs work . . . otherwise privateers will be rarer that Jedi

I have to admit, im thinking about switching to rebel pilot. Im at 2/2/2/2 and if i stay privateer or not, id better decide before i get too far into it. What irks me is two things:
1.) rebel pilot skills are FAR FAR more desireable and numberious
2.) The ships. While i don't consider than Y wing a good dogfighter for most of the time, the X wing makes me drool.
I think the only reason i dont switch is because im afraid one of the rebel trainers will require the completion of a themepark, and i really really do not want to play in the Gankers Crappy War. I'm not a TKM defensived stacked blue milk drinking 30000 ham, 90% compostie uber dude. I die quick, and i dont like giving a ganker the satisfaction.

well i agree that privateer is harder cause of the few restrictions and the lame reactor overload programs lol (what good is that anyway?) but since i've always been a glutton for punishment in this game being a MCH/Master smuggler, i feel right at homelol...however i think that privateers will have an edge in PvP since we are doing alot of missions multiple times and getting more practice haha...remember to have fun, its a game.![]()

It lives this thread definitly has some good information in it. I haven't yet tried the new Black sun light fighter khwhatever but I did get a chance to use reactor overload 2 and pirate trap 1. They both are very disapointing.
1. Reactor overload 2. The droid comes on and reactor set to stage 2 overload...... No visiable affect although I currently have enough power for everything I could find nothing to indicate how much additional power it would give me. Few minutes later the droid say program execution complete (Did he reset the reacotr or not since I have no clue what changed I cannot tell). This may be useful if it actually does anything however you would have to be real careful with it because if it reset to standard power inthe middle of a fight you would be screwed. In otherwords this seems pretty useless at this point more on that after I test further I am planning to overload my ship and see what happens.
2. Pirate Trap I. This is absolutly pointless. I used it and three ships show up all aggressive to me (I received no message to indicate wheter my skill check failed or suceeded) All three ships were Teir I currently I fight at least Teir II ships. The fighters did not really seem to have any affect on the enemies around they offered no distraction at all and the enemy just continued to try and pound me to oblivion only after I finished off the enemy now I have 3 teir I pirate ships to dispatch.
I have yet to climb higher in the tree and use the other skills we get but at this point I am very disappointed and would like to see something done to address what I hope are only bugs in the programming.
I will continue on this path as I have faith the DEVS will come by and help us eventually.
Just a note I am still loving the DUNELIZARD although the cap on turning ratio has started to anoy me since I now upgrade my enginges and still get no increased ability to manuver. I think the turning rates should be based on ship class mass and engine performance all three. That way if you wanted to fly a light Medium fighter with low mass and a good engine you may actually be able to come close to keeping up with pesky tie's however if you start adding heavier equipment you will start to lose performance.

Y'know, I'm curious about Pirate Trap II that you get at master. I've noticed that as I do the missions for Valarian, Hutt, Nym, and now Black Sun (Tier 4 mission 2), that after I do these missions, these samehigher tier NPC's start to leave me alone.
So do you think that means that Pirate Trap II will spawn high level pirates that are friendly to you? Hmm...

Dunno . . . probably just spawns 5 Tier 3's instead of 3 Tier 1's

If they only make 1 change to the privateer tree, it should be the addition of a master level 1-man fighter that stacks up against the Imperial and Rebel fighters. Possibly make the Firespray craftable and available only to neutrals, or something like that.
Well, as much as we'd like that, they're simply not gonna do that. The most we can hope for is that some day they'll decide to design a new ship for us.

What irks me is that Privateers are still agro to rebs or imps when doing the master exit mission. So if were in battle and I fly through the fire...i'm dead. Joe Blow in xwing flies through and is ok. Wheres the logic in making you decide on a faction when that faction can still kill you? I cant even use my epulse cause it disables my group when used. Pretty not smart if you ask me.

all i need is about 6.5 million more xp and that corvette, then I can . . . i dunno . . . cruise in my YT.
Or wait 6 monthsuntil there are enough firesprays to actaully get/afford one.
