I mean, 2k for the Chassis (Mind you this is a peice of junk chassis ont he bazzar) then 10K more to build it, thats kinda expensive especially if you are a Newbie just starting the game. How are you going to upgrade?

I was lucky however, i got to TIE by trading 20 unproggrammed driod modules for a TIE chassis (60K) now, my business isn't as popular as it was, so my funds have dropped from a cool 100K to 50K in like 3 days, i just cant see how like someone like ME can even afford to do pilot if i cant even afford my vendors/house/other sucvh things

My friend gave me my TIE for free

And, plus, it takes a LOT of resources to make a ship.

I never pay more than 90k for a tier 1.. and often pay as low as 50k for them. (I play on multiple servers, so I can try all three factions) Told some SW that I refuse to pay 100k or more for them.. they got a little miffed, told me it was a fair price due to the resources and blah blah blah. About a minute later I picked up one for 50k. So much for that.

Selling the low-level stuff at lower prices is a valid business tactic.. to try and get people to return for the higher-level stuff later. Doesn't always work, but it's a valid tactic nonetheless. Unfortunately, so many crafters in this game seem to be rabid socialists who think that valid business tactics are evil, everyone should aid their competition, (you have no idea how many wanna-be architects whined to me when I wouldn't train them because I won't aid my competition, as if I should automatically train them out of some nonexistant obligation) prices should be fixed and based on what they consider fair, and all sorts of other hippie nonsense. Maybe if you run off to the hills and join a commune.. but not in my capitalist world.

So far I have been able to get my ship chasis on the Bazaar cheaply. This will probably change as I do the Tier 4 and above levels.

I had to pay 200k last night for a TIE Interceptor chassis as my guild SW's have either gone weapons only or weren't on to make me one. As to equipping it i have so many looted parts i don't tend to need to buy much stuff and even if i do i get them at guild discount as some of the SW's are charging way too much at moment.

As my last ship the TIE/In cost me 150k for everything from the guild and as you can see above what I paid for the chassis for the Interceptor how much profit some people are making.

Ships should be expensive. They fly into space'n stuff.

For real though, you know how many good and plentiful resources you need to make ships and the parts? A Lot.

Welcome to SWG!

You may (unfortunately) be forced to participate in the ground game and actually run some missions or take up a side proffesion. (Apos the Dancing Pilot?)

Too many space merchants ripping off the populace. They are making money now, only because the rich players are spending money right now on space goodies. That will change soon when the rich loose interest. Then those aravistic players who charge too much will sit with an unmoving product. I will always remember those that tried to gouge me. You won't get my business or many of the others either. If you charge more than 3 cps you are in this category.

I would not blame the shipwrights, it is the resouce providers that are dramtically increasing thier prices. Right now because ships such a great number of resouces, most players couldnt possibly harvest all the resouces themselves, so they basically have to buy resouces from other players. On starsider steel is going for about 5 cpu, this is grind quality mind you so. If shipwrights were charging 3 cpu, they would tend to lose alot of money. What is the sense in being a commerial shipwright if you are going to lose money in the process?

Irov,

So Shipwrights using materials that sell for more than 3cpu should take a loss to sell ships instead? That doesn't make much sense.

In the end you get what you pay for. If a shipwright is using premium materials, expect to pay premium prices. If they're using grind materials, you pay grind prices. Pretty simple.
