Ok after finding out about a further release date slip I think we need a post that gives ways around the local distributers.
If you found a method that works please post it here. this is what i have found on the forums so far.
www.outpost.com: this is a good site. I ordered my JTLS from here last thirsday and recieved it today.there was no delays and i was able to track it via the outpost website all the way. I also did not have to pay anything extra when it arrived.
www.dlgamer.com: many have used this method of simply getting the registration key and it works fine. although they do seem to be temp out of stock.
www.importmadness.com: this is another on-line retailer that many players have mentioned here on the forums.
Friends and guildies : this is a bit like the dlgamer option, simply ask a TRUSTED, US, friend or guildie to buy the game on your behalf and mail you the registration key. you can use paypal to pay for this.
www.gamestop.com : Thanks to Kraxek for this one.
www.interactcd.com : thanks to Yrab65 for this
http://www.sps-systems.co.uk/trolleyed/134/index.htm : thnx to surolan for this one. this is a UKbased retail outlet.
www.softwareexpress.se : thnx to nOObster for this one. this is a swedish site but there is an english version. if you click on the UK flag.
many players have confirmed that you do not need the CD to play JTLS as the code is already there, it simply needs to be activated, the reason the cd is on sale is that not everyone wants to, or can download such large files.
show activision that we dont need them and they're stupid release dates and delays we can get the game for ourselves.
hope this post helps.
Edit : to show submission from kraxek

Edit : to show new entry from Surolan

I live in the UK and have JTL.
There is a site in America www.interactcd.com which sells and ships to the UK. If you do not need the box set or just want to get online quicker you can purchase just the key and you do not have to pay any postage. Cost me $27 if i remember correctly. Ordered it and paid online.Just over3 hours later I received the key, regiestered it and was ready to play. I was on the beta so all I had to do was copy over the files from jtl beta into the swg folder start the launchpad and only had a small download to endure.
I was up and playing within 4 hours of ordering the key.
Excellent site!

I've now gone the kind guildy route to get my copy as one of my European friends is in the US at the moment so he is aquiring the key and game for me over there. Would rather i didn't have to do it but unless i do its even more of a delay otherwise.

I bought mine from dlgamer.com without any problems.
When I first went to the site they said they were temp out of stock but were expecting some in THE NEXT DAY. I check my email about 9pm the same day and they had already sent one out!
Kudos to excellent service from dlgamer.com
Plus this is a bump to help screw over activision. It'll be so funy if they have a big release day on the 12th and no-one buys a copy. Please help that visiion come true!!!!!

Great thread. What an absolute disgrace that people of a certain country have to go to these measures while everyone else can go out to the local shop and just purchase a copy. I am hearing the Uk release has now been bumped to the 12th November - shame on you SOE, shame on you.
Seeing as people are ordering keys, I would imagine it would make sense for someone in the know to take a look at the situation, and make cd keys available online directly from Sony. They have the infrastructure to support downloading the client, they have the infrastructure to take credit card payments - so what am I missing here?

Have ordered mine from www.interactcd.com now, just bumping the topic as I think this is a great idea to stop Activision's delays/profit.
