Ooh! A one-star with no reply! How juvenile.

5 stars for you. Sounds like a good time, hope to have many of those in space.

I don't dispute that large scale battles will be fun. I don't have a problem with pvp zones. Deep space is still an open pvp zone and probably more appropriate due to the star destroyer being present.

I think the majority don't have a problem with pvp "when they want to". I, myself, do have a problem with players with ill intentions hindering the advancement of my character. I'm sure many others feel that way too or it would not have been changed.

There are legitimate reasons why things were done a certain way upon release but the devs in many cases jump to the conclusion that all players are "good". That is not the case. When you have people camping jump points in the zone just for the sake of "ganking" people trying to do a master mission things go sour. The way it was set up allowed griefers to know when and where people would be while trying to advance their character.

What if you were immediately made attackable on the ground any time you went into combat? Griefers would be camping grinding areas, following people from mission terms on dathomir and dantooine just to do what they do best- ruin people's fun.

It's not the dev's fault things had to change. As I mentioned, if all people were good and honorable there would be no problem but the fact of the matter is that a small subset of players caused it. That small subset is determined, in any way they can, to ruin people's fun. They take joy in it because it somehow makes up for their RL inadequacies. That small subset is the group of people you should be flaming about - not the devs.

What are you peoples problem? Fly to your factions space station, go overt, done...And if there are not many overts to fight against, it must mean something no?...Stop trying to force non pvp players to play by your rules, while you have the option to go overt to start with..

Do you not read any other threads?! Or is you just don't care what others think?

I can't go overt! There is no overt neutral!!

The way I see it is this: If you can't handle the PVP in Kessel, you shouldn't be an Ace. It's that simple.

Look, for the record, this is about not being able to go to Kessel as a non-master to a PvP zone.

The master mission in Kessel is a dead horse. Quit beating it.

Seriously, delcare and go to kessel. It can still be a pvp zone! Just not by default.

Why was my quote used for your message? Their server had a good pvp battle. I say nothing about forced pvp or declaring.

As for the forced PvP problem. I am only on second day of JTL due to taking a little break from the game. If a covert rebel takes out a tie fighter, does he get tefed like he would in the ground game?

For the neutral who said he can't declare - sure you can, you can pick sides!

And picking a side effectively ends my roleplay. /exasperate

Right now, in Kessel, I can attack and be attacked by both sides. I can roleplay.

"The cops are trying to steal what I've rightfully stolen! It's mine!"

Why would I join a faction that has cops? Unless there was something in it for me??

***You edited your message. But Kessel finally offered some content for smugglers.

Well, spoon, you would think that logic would dictate that this is the case. Unfortunately, it is not. Factioned pilots can attack and kill NPCs of the opposing faction without any consequences at all: there are no TEFs. For example, a pure PvE player who has joined the Empire as a pilot can kill Rebel ships with impunity, and after Tuesday, will be able to reach the title of Imperial Pilot Ace without ever facing anything more than easily predictable AI. Does that sound consistent with the ground game? Does it sound fun?

Thanks for posting the thread here and giving it a try, wildman. Unfortunately some people will never understand. All they see is a hindrance to their personal advancement, the goals of which are apparently: being able to strut around with a nifty title while wearing a spiffy helmet and jacket, and being able to impress their friends by flying an essentially useless multiplayer ship.

Thanks for the answer. That definetly needs to be changed to be consistant with the ground game. As a role playing imperial, its just wrong that the rebels go unpunished for killing my comrads.
