I'm haveing trouble with JTL. I'm 1/1/0/0 in the Privateer Pilot Prof. This bug only happend now and again but now its all the time and I can't find a solution for it.
I get a mission from the trainer in Theed (Destroy) and launch into space with my Dunelizzard, no problems. I get the waypoint and head to it. A minute later mission up date, fighters in the location. I target one and try to eliminate it, no chance at all. The enemy ships are warping all over the place very unreal looking. I can not damage them at all, they are not in my sights long enough. Also the gauge that goes down as you fire your blasters is not moving at all, like they aren't being fired. I'm taking damage but cannot give any. So I head back to the space station to l and and pick up the mission again and another weird thing happens. As I get closer to it but not close enough to hit the station, BANG ! I hit it and then in a second I'm not near it at all and then BANG ! I hit it again. This happens untill I can get near enough to land at Theed. Its like I'm warping backward s and forwards.
I have done a full system scan numerous times and reloaded the JTL game once. I have no packet loss and a ping of around 200 (I play on Corbantis and live in the UK) I use a joystick to play ther game.
At first I didn't have this problem, then it started now and again. The last 3 times I have tried to play it's been there. It just unplayable. Even if I just go into space with no missions ships seem to just dart everywhere.
Please can anyone suggest anything ?
I want to play this but I this carrys on I'm going to have to think of trying a game else where. SWG was my first MMOG and I love it but this is testing my patience.

Ping of 200?
What type and speed of internet connection do you have?

I have a 1mb Broadband (ADSL) connection with BTinternet in the UK. I have always had a ping between 180 -200 ever since playing around 7 months ago.

Ping must be bugged, I play with a 56k connection it says 256 most of the time, but have no lag at all (apart from coronet in primetime, but thats just the rendering of graphics when you swoop in fast).
this bug happened to me in beta, then was 'fixed' now I never experiance it, but others now do
so, lets hope they fix it soon for you

ping shouldnt be an issue, i play on flurry with a ping over 200 and dont have problems like this and im in the uk.
I would try, if you havent already, dropping your graphics card settings to best performance and drop anyFSAA and AA then in game drop graphics to bare minimum and see if this helps may not work but its an easy thing to try.

I have no problems in the ground game apart from the new Runtime Error bug and have most settings up to just below full apart from shadows which I have turned off. My PC has the following:
Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb, 1gig of Ram, 2.6 pentuim.
I shouldn't need to star turning stuff of should I ?

I'd maybe ask BT to do a signal check on your lineas i have played since early this year on a by cable conn of 1mb and now 1.5mb and my ping is always below 100. Similarly with others on 1mb adsl conns i know in this country they are all on better pings than you are getting.
Are your pings in any other online games as bad as this? As if they are it's possibly a line fault/issue if they aren't then only thing that might be affecting you is the routing your isp uses to get to the server you are on. If you do a ping trace and record what each step is doing you might find one step in the routing that is causing you issues.

Most of you are talking about my 'ping'. Could this be the reason I'm getting the bug in JTL ? I have had no problems with the ground game at all.

Do the obvious checks for spyware, viruses?
www.adaware.com
Also, are you running a firewall, or a virus protection system at all? Often you have
to turn those off.

I have done the adware & spyware checks, I do those quite often. I have Norton anti-virus and a nortan Firewall. I don't want to turn of the firewall and leave my pc open to attack. I get a message from the firewall now and again that a trojan has attempted to access my PC (The Thing and another ) and don't want the fire wall off.

just because you think you have a powerfull enough system to run the game dont rule out lowering settings as a solution.
I have a Radeon X800 but find the game runs better without FSAA & AA enabled.
Try lowering the settings, if it doesnt work put them back its one of the easiest things you can try. If you dont want to try it then dont but remember you the one with the problem.
I just noticed your running norton personal firewall, try disabling this and see if your latency improves also make sure you dont have xp firewall enabled. Remember to turn it back on after running the test.
If you find norton to be causing some increased latency then i suggest using a router to connect to the net and trash norton.

Your ping shouldnt be an issue at all
I play on a 1mb ADSL line (BT landline with Eclipse ISP)
I run 5 accounts at once (although they are not all in space as only oneaccount is JTL enabled)and get a ping around 200-250 in space and its no prob at all for me to play
*edit* Forgot to add, incase you didnt notice i too play on corbantis server
