Thread: My ship blows up sometimes for no reason. Any thoughts?

Not sure what's happening here. I assume it's a bug. Shortly after repairing, I'll be flying along and all of a sudden the ship explosion animation will occur. Both times this has happened I've not been in combat, and not in a PVP zone--no combat music or nothing. In fact, it's happened once over Naboo and once over Rori--I forget the zone names. I'm a 1-2-1-1 privateer in a dunelizard, by the way.

This is not just an animation. I'm dead, with wound damage and a broken ship.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Check your ship's stats by pressing v when you are in flight and check the hp of all of your equipment. It sounds like some sort of bug, or your ship isjust so tore up that your ship can't take a shot from an enemy and blows up.

is your death possible by way of a severly overloaded reactor? i don't know if it is even possible to destroy a ship this way as you described but, hey it's worth checking out eh?

I have said it before SOE, and I shall say it again, "Give me a job as your game mechanics consultant, and I shall fix your silly little game"!!!

Thanks for your thoughts guys. No no overloaded reactor. Absolutely pristine ship and not in combat--both times this has happened I had just repaired and was flying away from the space station and boom.

Most likely a Privateer used the Energy Pulse command and blew you up. This command overcharges the capacitor and sends out a massive pulse. It will destroy friendly ships in the area. The player may or may not have done this on purpose. It will warn you if the other ships are too close, but they have to be real close for it to pop up.

I see the satchel charges I planted in your ship worked perfectly...

I suggest you check with the dealer you bought the ship from. There may be a recall on your ship due to defective parts.
