Im Sure this question has been shot out a few times now on the forums..... i just can't locate em. Any one have any idea what the two new species for jump to light speed are gonna be? It'll obviously be intersting to see what they are. If any one has any clue what they are.... leave a rep.

I think dugs, droids or sullastians should be playable when JTL comes out. If dugs did come playable then you should make pod racers since sebulba is a well known pod racer in movies and games alike. I wanted a pod racer since release but they didnt make one. Who agrees it would be cool if they made pod racers? I would say dugs would be a fan favourite and they are good at driving vehicles so they would fit in with JTL perfectly.

Don't count on dugs. Too complicated to render. The new species will likely be humanoid (Sullustand, Bith, Aqualish, etc)

About Podracers:

From what I understand, there are plans to start including actual racing circuits and such, but only with existing ground vehicles.

I would love to see Dugs as a playable species also, but it simply won't happen. As was stated before, only humanoid species are being considered for players. In discussions during beta about player species, we were told that to do a non-humanoid species, special clothes would have to be designed, special animations considered (a Dug riding a speederbike? a Dug sitting in a chair?), world interactions, and a whole number of things not even seen client-side.


So really... I'm with you, but realistically, I'm pretty sure it won't happen.

It would be easy to be easy to make a dug sitting in a chair for SOE i think. Some people are getting sick of humanoid species. The best species are not humanoid. If u get a dug sitting in a chair it is quite easy to put them in a speeder. For walking, their arms touch the ground and their legs act like their arms. Its easy for SOE.

If it were easy, they would have done it by now. As it is, every species, even wookiees, use the same recycled animations. Wookiees can't wear normal clothesin partbecause of scaling and textureissues, and so they had to create a whole new line, and even that was kept small. To add Dugs or any other non-humanoid species, they would have to create it from the ground up. It's not simply a matter of adding a skin or a new model.


Don't get me wrong... I would love to have a Dug PC as well. They're one of my favourite species that Lucas has come up with (along with Chadra-Fan).It's just not a realistic expectation.

The devs have their work cut out for them to make dugs playable and make pod racers. Who likes star wars episode 1 racing. They can use sebulba as an outline for dugs and make them more costomizable like width of nose. For pod racers they have got quite alot of pod racers to use for an outline. They already have parts too which they can copy off. Thenames for the parts are already there and they can bring pit droids into the game by copying the pit droids in episode 1 racing. I thinks it would be cool if they made a new proffesion called Pod Racer. I want this so much i have already made my own skill tree. They can have weapons and all. Just like the flame emitter in sebulbas pod racer.
