Heya,
yesterday, the imperial star destroyer in Deep Space was destroyed by a relatively small band of rebel fighters. While this might seem too easy on first view, i think the problem was, that none of the imperial masters knew what was going on, so here's an idea:
Could Ace pilots get a global warning message (Attention, pilot. A Star Destroyer/Space station has fallen under attack by enemy forces! Help defending it is required immediately!), so that there's a bit more PvP interaction triggered instead of 'zone in, destroy target, zone out'?
Just an idea tho...

That's a great idea. They would have to be some way to turn it off or something though so it doesn't get annoying. But it would definitly be cool.

I'd much rather the Devs fix the ISD so someone with time on their hands can't get behind an engine exhaust port putting out the byproduct of what's essentially a nuclear fusion reactor on the order of a small star (since that's the ISD's powerplant) and whittle away at something that should be able to swat it like a fly.
There's something fundamentally flawed when it's harder to take out a Ye-4 or Rebel Gunboat (both have 360-degree turret coverage) than it is an ISD if you know how to approach it correctly.

Speaking on the merits of the idea, only Aces and Tier 4 pilots should hear it, as if I'm not mistaken, it takes a certain rank/advancement/prestige level to get into Deep Space to begin with.

In-game emails might be doable if there's an option to disable receiving them.

Well, first of all, only ace pilots would receive it, since you need prestige points to enter deep space, which only aces get. Also, this option should be able to be toggled, of course, same as the in-combat-video-messages (which will come with next patch anyways).
But if noone knows that there's some action going on in deep space, then it'll stay lonely there imho.
Of course the messages would have a relatively high trigger threshold, since it takes a bit until something of the ISD/Station even start taking damage. But at least when something happens to the targets damagewise, it should trigger that message (similar to the ISD releasing emergency fighter squads in the movies).

Not a bad idea but it should be a system message that is sent once every 10 minutes and only to those who are already in space not on the ground and even than it is only sent while the ISD isfunctioning (or rebel space installation).
Second the ISD needs to be "ubered" up a bit. No single snubfighter in Star wars has the firepower to take out a ISD. Even Hobbie in Empire Strikes Back had a problem with Leia's plan during the evacuation of Hoth, when she wanted a two fighter escort for each transport.
"Two fighters against a star destroyer?!"
The stardestroyer needs higher shield reserves, thicker armor AND if it is a starfighter or freighter that is attacking that ship'sdamage is automatically reduced by 90% (no such reduction when another capital ship is attacking another capital ship or a space installation). Same goes the for the Rebel space station. Should take several squadrons to take out capital ships and space installations.

Well, only showing the message in space would actually void the whole thing. If all [insert faction here] aces are on ground, they need a notification, not only the ones in space.

This idea will never happen. Do you know how many time a day the ISD and Station get blown up? I spend most of my day there blowing up the Station, by my self. They will never add a global message.

With as much pride the Empire has I don't think they inform other units that one of their most visible symbols of power is being attacked. For example how many fleets of ISD showed up to protect the first Death Star when it was attacked, the second Death Star only had a back up fleet due to the presents of Palpatine.

I support this idea if you can indeed choose not to receive the message.
(code-speaking its relatively easy to implement)
