Ok folks I too get annoyed at all the loot camping. I propose a new system for determining loot permission (loot rights)
Instead of the person that does the most damage automatically getting loot rights, they have a chance of getting loot rights depending on the amount of damage they did, as a percentage of the total. for example:
Nyax has 50k or so ham.
Person A does 20k damage
Person B does 30k damage
Person A has 20/50 or 40% chance of getting the loot
Person B has 30/50 or 60% chance of getting the loot
It's just ridiculous that people with exceptional weapons and all the speed tapes are getting EVERY loot permission every time. This way there's still an advantage to having good equipment but it's not a sure bet.

An added benefit is that this solves the "who's turn is it to get loot" discussion. The game picks someone at random, so no need for people to click at hyper speed or run loot macros.

Or even better yet, Sony can take a stand against kill stealing and actually enforce some community guidelines and standards. If a person or group is at a certain spawn point then that spawn is camped, period! Any person or other group who engages mobs that are camped are guilty of KSing and should be dealt with by SOE officials. This goes to another issue of mine, Sony's involvement in the community is effectively non-existant. In EQ there were GMs all over the place in game all the time, you couldn't get away with anything. KSing was never a problem because if a spawn was camped it was camped, it's that simple. I've been playing SWG since launch and I have seen a grand total of 2 CSRs in the game. They really need to step up and take a more active role in the community, and if that means hiring more people to act as CSRs, GMs or whatever they want to call them, I am sure there are lots of people who would love the job.

Here is how it works now
:
The single Player who does the most individual damage to a creature is awarded loot rights or their group is awarded loot rights. Stupidly this means that a group of 20 with very high end weapons will loose loot rights EVERYTIME to a solo player with an exceptional weapon.
How is that right ???? That is a terrible system. I have seen many proposals on many boards and the best i think would be to tie the loot rights to the first person /group to hit it. Add to that a range barrier of 200-300m so that if all group members are out of range the loot rights are revoked and granted to the next hit. Corpses would be calculated as out of range so that 1 suicide junky didnt die by the MOB to retain rights while the group did something else so would incapped and Feigned death states.
For a game that wishes more group play it does nothing to support group play at all. Find a group of 10 loose to a solo player. Find a group discover you have a loot ninja.
What is the point. This should be one of the highest priority fixes. Even a temporary bandaid where once fired upon the target becomes the groups "mission" (see jtl mission targets un attackable) until it dies or is out of range from the original group.
