This is makinga mess of the loot economy in SWG right now. We are taking things that we thought were a rare loot item,. but now it seems that people are able to farm for asmuch of it as they want with the only limitation being patience.
Another good example of this is what happened with the no division and vader posters last week, they once sold for in excess of 3 million each, but now that you can farm for them and the opening bid for auctions is now 200k...quite a price drop in less than a week. That's exactly what is going to happen with these high level CA/AA's, you have nyax spawning every 10 minutes, or 6 times an hour, which is 144 CA/AA's a day because you know that nyax is dead within 30 seconds of spawning with all the campers we have down there. So what exactly is going to happen to these SEAs because there is a cap on how much a benefit you can gain from them? Once the high money players get their fill of them, the prices will continue to drop until just about everyone who is in the game with some clue will be capped. They will become as common as the luke skywalker wanted posters everyone trips over now. Either that or they will be done away with completely after the CU, but then again we can only speculate about this.
There are 2 simple solutions for this mess and I hope SOE is working on at least one of them the first is instanced dungeons but I'm not sure how great that would be for the game, because some of the best times I've had have been with a random person I found in the geo caves that was hunting or got in over his head or vice versa and we helped each other out. Another solution would be that there would be a timer that would limit how frequently someone could kill a high drop poi person...this could include nyax, sif, the ackalay, you get the idea. It would discourage camping and allow everyone to get some content in this game while also stemming the glut of farmed loot into the economy.
But while this effects the loot economy, there are also othereconomic ramifications on the wayas well. The WS/AScrafters might soon be taking a hit.Because they spent all this time and money to gather up their 12 point suits and every time you buy something from them you do pay a bit towards that suit they own. But now anyonethat has any money can start up their own businessand put together a suit for much less money than they did, so there is going to be a drop in WS/AS prices. Hopefully we won't lose any more greats because of this phenomeon, but only time will tell.
I think its great that the spawn times have been upped...there is nothing more depressing then going to a new poi to hunt things but getting there and seeing someone has already cleaned the place out. But now its just as bad...you walk into a place and everyone is camping out for the loot. About as fun as the previous case, but even more frustrating because now you know who is hogging all the loot.
I would just like to see this practice stopped in some way, I understand that this will have to be imposed because people will keep doing it as long as it pays well. Either that or we can just wait for the market to get saturated and it really doesn't pay to camp for this loot because its only worth about 50-100k per point...but I hope it doesn't come to that.

This new spawn rate and loot drop increase will have the exact opposite effect you are describing.
I think its long overdue that SWG broke the monopoly of the SEA barons. It was absurd that such a small number of folks on each server could totally control the main sources of SEA drops. So this new increased frequency of loot drops and spawns is a fantastic idea in my opinion. Its the best thing the devs could of done i think. There is no reason why a new player shouldnt have access to good SEA's, thats none-sense to say otherwise. I think we will see all SEA's settle down to like 10k per point regardless of type, and thats just about where they should be. IMHO

good deal. more stuff for everyone is a good thing.
so you can't sell a poster for millions anymore..... and that's a problem because? i've been putting all the posters and painting i build form loot kits on the bazaar for 5k or so. not like it cost me anything to get em.
will be great when everyone can have a +XX to whatever because they took a little time, instead of because they were the high bidder. good stuff

It's an intresting stalemate....... yes to start with all the campers will end up with all the loot, but surely they will get bored logging in every 10 mins to loot..... (or keeping online ready for CSR to kick them - which will happen)
okay economy prices will come down, but since the loss of solo groups, isn't that a good thing as nobody is earning 600,000 million creds per buff session (okay over stated) . so things will settle down.. maybe the auction will become for stuff ppl can'tget alone, or their group can't get. ? time will tell
Personally - I don't go after big loots all the time - have more clear crystals from elders than i can store... never got the SEA drop lol
i just prefer the content

Personally Iam glad that there is an increase in the amount of CA's and AA's. This will increase the availabilityof these items so morepeople can enjoy using them, not just the people who have millionsof credits to spare. It is ridiculous how high most of these items are.

maybe I didn't explain my point clearly enough....i just mean that this stuff shouldn't be farmed...with all the campers out there. I mean I tried to get myself some SEA's yesterday and I couldn't loot anything. I can't match a jedi knight for damage.

I think the Devs knew what they were doing, and they are deflating the economy.

what are you talking about...please enlighten me. If I am online and a CSR kicks me because I am at a place where EVERYONE knows the NPC drops good loot...thats a bit retarded and I personally don't see it happening.

I guess the longtime smiths with close to or over a billion credits won't have anything real expensive to blow 20mil on at a time soon (besides jetpacks). Newer crafters will never reach their level of wealth once the economy deflates, so I suppose every server will have it's own eternally mega-wealthy class now. Lol.

So are u pissed off b/c u can't loot them for resale at the over priced market or are you bitching b/c u can't find one for sale in your price range? If it's the 2nd reason then wait a few weeks and the price is sure to hit rock bottom and you'll be all set. either way i could care less myself. Most of the ca/aa's will be useless after CURB if the Dev's have their way.(IE. give us new sh#t to play with and break others that worked B4).

Hmm, so all the POIs haven't been camped before the increased drop rates ? I went at least once a month to visit my old friend Lord Nyax. POI empty as my pockets near the end of the month ...
Lowering the drop rates WOULD NOT fix the problem POIs being camped. Instead the same usual suspects will be camping these spots and sell the looted stuff for the same prices as we have today.
Now about your chance against a knight: what's the problem here (and no, i'm not a Jedi fan) ? let them camp the POIs/Caves/whatsoever. Let them do the boring work getting these SEAs. The prices will drop real soon and then you can get that stuff for a few bucks at the bazaar.Instead group with friends and go hunting, enjoy the hundreds of other interesting aspects of this game ...
Let the campers camp and do the dull work. They soon will realize it's not worth the time anymore and leave these spots
