Alright, my main purpose of this thread is to expose the fact that there are many things wrong with alot of things in the game visually and audibly. I couldn't find a proper place to post this, so here is where it sits. Now you can call this complaining, nitpicking, whatever. Flame me if you like as well, I want to see where this goes and I DO hope a dev reads this and takes it to heart. Now I have been playing this game since launch, and I've quit once already only to come back as the devs finally start taking some responsibility, and am avid fan of Star Wars, I've seen all the movies read all the books, hell I even have equipment books and schematic books. I'm a tailor now on the kauri server and I am sort of a perfectionist, especially when it comes to the look and feel that this game gives to its players. From here on in I'm going to list specific things I've noticed wrong with the audio and visual of the game as it stands, and I dunno about you but these things are making me feel like this is a cheap remake of the actual star wars universe:
The infamous Republic Blaster - The look and sound of this weapon is close to what the actual one Amidala used in the movie, but it's something of a knock off to me. The barrel is far too short, and it sounds nothing like the movie. If you are trying to recreate it, then why is it so poorly done? I'm sure the devs have access to the sounds from the movie and could easily port it to the game as they've done with alot of other audio from the movies. And I'm also sure, they could get their hands on the actual prop used for it. Again, this is just my opinion on how it should be.
Lack of an imperial factional backpack - Another thing which was used in the movies by stormtroopers, specifically sandtroopers. but the fact remains it was there and was used and could be also used in the game, why the rebellion gets a pack and we don't I have no idea.
Lack of color customization for backpacks - I can't color my backpack, why not?
Belts seem like a donut over armor - I often wonder why I wear no belt, then I remember that they are severely oversized, no matter how big your waist is, and then I start to think what a waste of time they are, because they just look stupid oftentimes.
AT-ST sound effects - Everything is great on this, except the sound of its blasters firing. In my opinion, it should sound exactly as it did in return of the jedi, striking fear into those that would hear it. Again, just my opinion.
Clothing and armor customization options - As tailor, this is a critical thing I see making characters look like mere clones for the most part, which would be fine, if you were a clonetrooper. Things like, not being able to match the right shades of color on different items would be peeves for me on this one, like how black ends up looking grey, even if your a master tailor/armorsmith. And the amount of clothing would be another thing, the ithorians showed up and got a whole slew of new, cool looking clothes for their race whilst everyone else is stuck using the same old stuff, that is actually starting to become boring, and making my job seem pointless because everyone wants the same things, because they don't like everything else. I would personally like to see more clothing added, things like the imperial hat, or the rebel endor helm, heck maybe even some naboo royalty clothing. Most of these things are in the game, but we just cannot make them.
Hairstyles - There isn't enough hairstyles to choose from, nuff said there.
Speederbikes audio and visual and lack of combat - Now heres another good one. Were the speederbikes in RoTJ just modified for military use or did they just come that way? My schematic book says they are made that way, with a nice big blaster under the engine manifold, near the front guide rails. And while I'm criticizing this to the movie, why can't we use that? I don't see how it would unbalance the game, seeing as anyone who wanted to fight on their speeder has the chances of losing it and all the precious credits and materials used to make it. And you couldn't kite with them really because feesibly the only way you could shoot backwards on a speeder would be to use a pistol. The only weapon that could possibly be used effectively from a vehicle like a speederbike, and yet we cannot do that, BUT NPCS CAN SHOOT AND OR KILL US AND THE BIKE. Just a suggestion though. Second thing about these bikes, is the color customization options. I myself, like my speederbike to resemble the ones in the movies, so I try to match the utterly stupid red racing stripes to brown, to somehow match the main body and make me feel better. The racing stripes should definately be chosen, not simply just 'there'. I'm no racer.
Factional Armor Color Options - None there, nuff said. Some of us would like to wear green swamp trooper armor, or even the infamous black suits, but we can't and I doubt it will change in the combat upgrade either, we'll be stuck with usual stark white, while the other npc stormies get to use nifty stripes, black armors, and other custom colored suits of it. And the marine armor is gonna always be green/grey.. ..yay.
Lack of rank/class pauldrons as a neck piece for imperials who would like to don the stormtrooper armor - These have been in the game a long time and we still can't use them.. Maybe tailors could make them, or armorsmiths, or maybe they should be purchasble from recruiters. Who knows.
Other players unable to see scopes or stocks on weapons - I'd like to know if other players are using a scoped and stocked weapon, nuff said again.
These are just SOME of the issues I'd like to see worked on at some point in this game, there are other issues like clothing not rendering properly because your chest is too big, or being able to see through a hole in the texture/skin of my backpack. I've been observing things like this from launch, and the game has and will keep coming a long way from then. And devs keep up the good work, but please, while your working on combat and fixing bugs and jedi and making it more like 'star wars', take this post into consideration, as these are issues as well, while not as significantly important, they are important none the less.

GX,
I agree with several of your posts. There are several things that break "immersion" for me.
The devs excuse for not being able to fire from speeders is we have the "civllian" model, and having guns would stupposedly unbalance things. How? Everyone can have a speeder. Melee people can scream all they want. If the thought is vehicles will give Melee people a disadvantage, that thought is wrong. Melee profs can hop on a bike.
I WANT TO SEE SCOUT TROOPERS CHASING PEOPLE ON ENDOR!
I WANT TO SEE SWOOP GANGS ON SWOOPS!
I call BS.
You can't kite with a speederbike.
Plus to take down anything worth while You'd have to make so many passes at it, you'd prolly end up having the bike wrecked.
Let Imps pilot AT-ST's and fire them, and give rebels the Tatooine Air Speeder (otherwise known as Hoth Snowspeeder) and let the speeder work like an AV-21 but have it "fly" a little lower than a jetpack (10 M? )
There. Balance, Vehicular combat, Fun, Star Wars. :-)
SWG should be Star Wars, not Ever-f--kin-quest in space.
And no, I'm not one of those "haters" who keep playing to be able to gripe on the boards.
I truly do love and enjoy this game, I just feel that there is so much potential being wasted.
I've heard rumors on the next SWG Expansion.
I've heard one about the "underworld" (Black Sun? Hutts?)
and one about a GCW Expansion. Who knows.
I just know if Planetside has ground and air vehicle combat, SWG should too. :-)
Maybe with the Dev revamp we have recently been blessed with,
some of these things may see the light of day. :-)

Hell look at Star Wars Battlefront. They've intergrated everything together in one neat package. Ground and air combat with all types of vehicles. Not to mention instead of 'kneeling' to shoot for better accuracy you can 'crouch' and still move in a crouched state. Instead of wasting a whole lot of time on that game, why didnt they employ them to help work on SWG. Oh and also, they have hoth. Now SoE claims they it would be too much work to make the cold planet of hoth, but as the universe stands we are limited to specific planets. If battlefront can do all this and make it look and feel better than SWG then devs, your obviously doing something wrong. Like not listening to US. The consumer, the player. The one who spends their miserable lives playing and paying for your game, day in, day out. All I'm asking is for a dev to READ this and bring it to attention to the team. But I guess ya'll are too busy fixing combat [ something that should have been done long ago ] and jedi to worry about how immersive the game is or how true to the movies it is.
