Looting rights go to the one player that does the most damage (and his group)

So group of 20 rifleman and a lone jedi are fighting same creature, jedi gets rights

Even though the 20 rifleman may have done more combined damage, the jedi did more damage than any other single player in that group

Is this right?

Whichever player does the most damage gets the loot rights. Grouped or not grouped does not matter. So, if you are in a group of five players and render 51% of the damage to say, Lord Nyax, and a single rifleman is responsible for the other 49%, the rifleman gets the loot rights.

the original poster is 99% correct. There are slight deviations in the formula but for the most part you are right. Anyone thinking you are wrong i got 1 person to introduce them to on my server who uses this to his full advantage.

Keep in mind the damage that counts towards loot rights is the actual damage not the damage shown in the combat window. So if your fighting something that's 90% energy resistant with heavy armor and you see 4500 in the combat window from a rifleman, this is only 450 actual damage (with a t21 even less with a AP2 weapon) that counts towards loot rights. A jedi hitting for 7000 will be doing 7000 damage since almost nothing has resists for light sabers.

In this case it would take 15 shots from a rifleman to equal one shot from the jedi for loot rights. but it is the group that counts.

This is really easy to test, you just need 3 people and someone that can target a single pool, preferably mind. Find a decent 10k mob and write down the numbers for all three stats. Have the person that can target mind take out ¾ of the mind bar and peace, write down the stats again. Subtracting will show you the total actual damage of the one person.

Then have the other two grouped people do half the damage to another single pool, but always do it one at a time and write down the stats after each person. Eventually you will be able to demonstrate that it is the groups damage that matters, this gets easier to show the more people you have in the group with this experiment but you will get to the point where the single person always loses but does the most individual damage.

i think this was being discussed on another thread that was floating on these forums...

loot rights is not based on cumulative group damage. my understanding is that it's either

1) individual who does the most damage...if that individual is in a group, then the group gets the loot rights...(this is the most popular train of thought)

2) loot rights based on average damage. this theory was brought up by someone and the idea is that loot rights were based on average damage per player in a group. so whichever group has the higher average wins loot rights....

as far as can a jedi knight outdamage 20 riflemen? depending on the mob...but i'd say yes (regardless of case 1 or 2 mentioned above). i've seen jedi do 7-9kmax dpsin my combat log before. thats full damage as currently nothing has any resist to LS damage. riflemen can do i think 3-4k max dps before AP, AR, and resistance calcs.

I always thought it was group damage also but theres been instanced both seem to have worked. I was at lord nyax with a dark jediknight, 2 master swordsman and a master carbineer (i myself, a master rifleman) we were grouped, and about 6 times in a row these 2 grouped rifleman outdamaged the 5 of us, quite unrealistic, but it happened. Also, I was krayt hunting, probobly had almost half of the krayts life gone, when a group with 2 jedi , rifleman, and a tk came and started attacking, they ended up with looting rights, when it seemed iI peronally should have done more damage individually =/
