I don't like exceedingly rare loot. I like loot that is harder to find than others right off the bat, buteasier to findwith the passage of time or with friends' help.

The loot kits were perfect, I think. I was able to loot 75% of the stuff without thinking too hard about it, but the remaining 25% I either bought or traded for with friends.

If they did increase the drop rate on adhesives, I'm okay with it. I wouldn't mind having more rugs one day, after all. Everyone who wanted to lord their loot over others had their chance early on when they were super rare. Now it's come down to where anyone who wants one and can put a little effort into it and get them. I think that works well when there's a regular cycle of new items becoming available (first comes out, is super rare, people who can afford to get it do so and feel special, time passes, more people get it, becomes less rare, everyone is happy fora time, rinse and repeat).

Seems to me the people who want really super rare loot to remain that wayare the people with more money than they know what to do with and want some way to flaunt it. Sort of a "neener neener! I have something you don't and never will!" mentality.

I see what you are saying and it makes sense. I guess for me personally I would just like to have something that is actually special in the game.

whats needed is an extremely rare drop that can't be traded.. bind it to its owner somehow- let them be able to drop it in a house, but only the binded person may pick it up or move it

It seems that whenever new loot is introduced into the game ther is something that hardly ever drops in teh beginning. I think most of us clearly remember the hunt for Adhesives and the Victory and No Division posters. When they first hit they were incredibly rare. Now they are much more common.

Personally the sight of Blue Rugs is not as exciting after seeing several houses carpeted in just that. When every alcove in Player City Cantinas has a Glass Top Table, it cheapens the experience. When Vader is in every house or guildhall along side a nice looking Stormtrooper it won't be nearly as much fun to see them.

However...

When the items are rare, the few items that are looted are sold to the richest players. Leaving the poorer players who can't spend hours looting out in the cold.

What do you guys think? Should certain items stay rare forever or should all new loot eventually become a fast drop?

I understand that things will become more common over time, but anyone who hunted for loot kits know that the adhesive rate increased. I hunted casually for a few months. When I had extra time I camped the Meatlumps outside of Coronet. Never dropped anything worth keeping. In the last two weeks of my hunting I looted 4 Adhesives. And from checking the Trade Forums, so did everyone else.

Personally I think they should keep some things very very rare in each loot addition. Keep some of the paintings dropping like crazy (Bio, Party, Cargo Port), give them to everyone. But keep something rare, don't increase the drops on Vader or the Storm Trooper. Keep things exciting, leave some unique items in the game...give the loot hunters something to dream about...
