After days of hunting to get all the parts for a smelter I was finally ready to put one together. I was so happy days of work to come to an end with the reward that I had fought so hard for. Well being a master artisan, I learned the schem and put the items in their slots. Then poof, critical failure, all parts are gone. NOOOOO!!!!! This is incredibly frustrating, days of work just went down the drain. If this was the first time something like this had happened, I might be ok with it, annoyed but ok. However the same thing happened the one and only time I tried to make an AV-21. A couple of items thatyou are required to hunt for days to get should be like shipwright or architect schems, where if you fail, you don't loose all your ingredients.
I didn't say I was quitting yet, just that it's stuff like this that make people want to quit.
It would be nice if at critical failure there was another role and anywhere from 1 to all ingredients are lost This way therewould still a chance of keeping some of the difficult to gather resources. The likelyhood of loosing all parts could also decrease as the crafter got closer to master.

That's not nearly as a bad as having all your jetpack parts poof on craft. Happened to a guildie. He didn't get them back, either.

Bro hang in there i know how you feel with my architect before they introduced the noloss policy every new scheme i tried i crit failed on final combine.....my first large house my first fusion powermy first guildhall(i cried with that one) my first of every city structure
while other archs were making tons of creds off their sells i was spending twice my creds to make mine
it sucks and this was supposed to have been fixed with the mastery bonus' to experimentation but i still see more crit fails at upper levels than i ever do at lower levels

All I can say is that you should have taken Pyollian Cake before you attempted assembly, as this food increases your chance of successful assembly during crafting. I had a friend lose not one, but two AV-21s to assembly failures. After that, I made sure he ate Pyollian Cake before crafting AV-21s, and he never experienced a critical failure again.

Or having your av-21 deleted by a CSR (title doesn't fit the role) because of their vehical bug; only to see everyone elese replaced with non bugged version two weeks later.

Thanks for the info jagged. One of my former guildies lost a RIS armor piece that way. I think the critical failures should be removed. They serve no purpose but to annoy and waste ourtime.

I don't necessarily disagree. However, I would qualify this a bit. It is my opinion that players that have mastered a crafting profession should not ever have to tolerate critical failures. One of my characters is a Master Artisan, Master Droid Engineer, and Master Shipwright and I still experience quite a few critical failures. I sometimes wonder if my character is drunk
