I. Preface:
- High Powered Vibro Motors: +20 maximum damage
- High Frequency Vibro Motors: +5 wounds
- High Powered Energy Capacitors: +20 maximum damage
- High Velocity Feed Mechanisms: +20 maximum damage
- BalancedFeed Mechanisms: -.2 speed
- *Bubbletank Schematic
Note: All of the above values listed are Base Stats. The above components have the chance to drop with above average stats. I have looted +28 maximum damage High Powered Vibro Motors, +6 wound High frequency Vibro Motors, and +23 High Powered Energy Capacitors.
Nym's NPC's include at least the following:
- Nym's Elite Guards
- Nym's Elite Pirates
- Nym's Brawlers
- Nym's Guards
- Nym's Droideka
- Nym's Pirate
- Nym's Surveyor
They spawn all over the planet. There are honestly no specific areas that they spawn in other than the spawns in Nyms Stronghold. If you start at Nym's Stronghold and head south towards either Mount Chalot or the Imperial Base, you are bound to run into spawns.
*The bubbletank schematic was SUPPOSED to drop ONLY off Nym's Droidekas, however, a trusted friend mentioned that she looted one off one of her BH marks.
B. Specifically From Giant Dune Kimos:
- Giant Dune Kimogola Scales (R.I.S. Armor Component)
- Kimogola Scales (Bone Armor Component)
The Giant Dune Kimogola is a rare creature, that drops the elusive Giant Dune Kimogola Scale, which is the rarest and hardest R.I.S Armor Component to acquire. The Giant Dune Kimogola Scales are LOOTED off the corpse of the dead body. They are not to be confused with Kimogola Scales, which are pretty much worthless. It MUST say "GIANT DUNE KIMOGOLA SCALE". The resists of theGiant Dune Kimogolaare as follows:
Armor Rating: Medium
Ham: 85,000-100,000
- Kinetic 65%
- Energy 80%
- Blast 65%
- Stun 65%
- Heat 100%
- Cold 65%
- Electricity 65%
- Acid 100%
Vulnerability:
- Lightsaber
Special Attacks:
- Area Combo
- Plague Strike
The Giant Dune Kimo spawns alone and without a lair. At times, they are very difficult to find. They seem to spawn in the southern half of Lok. I have had a lot of success finding them starting a few hundred meters south of theGiant Maze (3824, -465), all the way down toMount Chalotand then, from there, west towards the Imperial Base (-1785, -3087).
There is also a GDK that spawnsat Kimogola Town POI, which is located at -176, +2856 (roughly 2500m from the Lok Starport). It is on roughly, a one hour spawn timer, meaning after it is killed, it will respawn one hour later.
Combating the GDK can be a task if you are not prepared. If you notice, the two special attacks it has are Area Combo and Plague Strike. First, Area Combo is just nasty. It is an area attack, which has the chance to stun/blind/intimidate/dizzy anyone within the radius of the attack. Melee tanks being constantly hit with those states will find that their damage per second is reduced severly. The second attack, is Plague Strike, and it is the nastiest disease that any NPC/Creature is able to apply. The disease is a random pool disease, and you can be diseased in multiple pools. The tick from the disease is in the area of 250 wounds per tick, per stat. After fighting a few Giant Dune Kimos, it is not uncommon to have maximum wounds.
Because of the high wounds that the disease dishes out, one must be very careful about buffs. If your mind buffs drop (brandy, dancer, musician), and you have maximum mind wounds, you will find yourself with 1/1 mind and you could, if not careful, be very easily incapped. So as a word to the wise, I would recommend paying close attention to your buffs if you have been diseased by a Giant Dune Kimogola.
Killing the Giant Dune is best done in a group of at least 2 people. One person as a tank (brawler type template) and one person doing ranged damage (rifleman is probably best here). I think that having at least one healer (Medic, Doctor, Combat Medic, Jedi Healer) in the group is a must. Because of area combo (see above for description of area combo), the melee character can, and probably will, find himself with states which drastically reduce the damage per second.
Tips for Killing the Giant Dune Kimogola:
- keep the GDK intimidated, that is maybe the most important aspect of fighting this beast
- make sure your group is targeting the same pool, IE make sure you are all on the same page
- as a brawler, use /taunt to draw aggro from your ranged fighters
- if you are solo, or in a small group, sometimes letting the disease tick is better than curing it, as the GDK hits disease a lot. i have been diseased over 20 times in one fight with a GDK. i just let the disease tick instead of spending the time to heal it.
C. Specifically From Reclusive Gurk Kings:
- Reclusive Gurk King Hide (R.I.S. Armor Component)
The Reclusive Gurk King is a boss that spawns from 60k+ ham lairs. The lairs you are looking for are titled "nests". There are two (2) different types of nests. The first one resembles a beehive. The second one, looks like a bunch of sticks piled up, and this is the lair you are looking for.
NOTE: The Reclusive Gurk King can ONLY spawn from a Mission Lair if the Mission is higher than Level 150
The reclusive Gurk King is not difficult to kill, however, he is a random spawn as a boss from the "Nest" lair. There are two different types of bosses that will spawn from the "Nest" lair after the lair is taken below 10% ham (roughly 7000 ham). The Reclusive Gurk King, and the Crazed Gurk Destoryers are the two bosses. Its pretty much hit and miss, so my advice is just kill as many of these lairs as possible to maximize your chances of spawning the Reclusive Gurk King and thus looting the Reclusive Gurk King Hides.
IV Random Loot from Other NPC's...:
There are many other NPC's that spawn on Lok, and because of it, futher intensifies the fact that Lok is a great planet, with a lot of variety, to hunt on. The HAM ranges from maybe 5000 minimum (for the wimpy pirates) up to close to 13000 for the higher level Mercenaries. Included in the list, are the following:
- Mercenaries (Elite, Mercenary Commanders etc)
- Pirates
- Corsairs (Corsair Canyon Pirates, Corsair Elites etc)
- Blood Razors
Most of these mobs are around 10k ham. See the section below (section V), which details the POI'sthat some of these above mentioned mobs inhabit.
Corsairs maybe the best source of loot out of the above mobs. They drop at least 2 different skill stims (one being rifle accuracy), they drop old and new loot kit parts, and a lot of lower level Jedi crystals.
With all of these mobs, there is always a chance to loot clothing attachments, armor attachments, minor DOT weapons, loot kit parts, and Jedi lightsaber crystals (color and damage). However, of course some drops are a lot rarer than others.
V. POI Locations:
Blood Razor Base [ +3610, +2229 ]
This base spawns a bunch of Blood Razors, which are the high end NPC's on Lok. This base is located fairly close to Nym's Stronghold. There are a decent number of Blood Razors who spawn in this base. It is somewhat reminicent of the Marauder Themepark fromEndorcombined with the Lucky Despot Cantina on Mos Eisley.
Canyon Corsair Camps [ -3792, -3904 ]
The Canyon Corsair Camps are in the south western area of Lok. I would advise that you check for a player city in that area if you are intested in visiting the camps, as it would save a great deal of time. I would estimate there are roughly 25 Canyon Corsairs at this POI.
Kimo Town [ +176, +2856 ]
Listed above in the GDK section is all the info one would need about the major draw to this POI.
Gurk King [ Coming Soon ]
VI. Personal Strategy:
When I head to Lok, I rarely focus on one group of creatures, or NPCs to kill. Because of the abundance of killable NPCs, this makes Lok a very underrated, yet productive planet to hunt on. I have novice scout on my characters, and as a result, I will sometimes head to Lok to harvest herbivoire meat (off gurks and snorbels), however I have never met a GDK that I haven't killed. Go from spawn to spawn, fill your inventory up with loot and enjoy. Afterall, having fun IS the most important thing in this game, now isnt it?

Reclusive Gurk Kings DO have a chance to spawn in gurk lair missions higher than level 150. Just a heads up. At level 432, can get a Reclusive Gurk King pretty much every mission.
**Edit: to get to this missionlevel, everyone in the group needs to be a Master Elite Profession with a strong damage weapon that they're certified for...group with a few AT-ST'sand/or a couple big level 70 pets.
