Sure there are and i dod not say that i want an item and nothing else

Make it like the other guy stated:

Increase the loot luck by a bit
or
Another 5 skillpoints
or
Another 3 lots
or
make all skill reorganizable for one time
or
a nice event in which just those veterans can take part
or
a special quest only doable by people that are with the game fr more than 180/270/360 and so on days
or
just let the verterans send in a ticket without this annoying holocron search before
or
increase the chance of a flawless repair for veterans
or
.
.
.
to be continued

Some things might be a bit to much but you got the clue i bet.

Veteran rewards are a good idea. Veteran rewards that are desirable are an even better idea. If these rewards are obtainable by all, it becomes a great idea.

Example: Newbie player sees Really Very Cool Vet Reward owned by Master Smuggler, who has suffered through a broken profession forever but stuck it out anyway. Newbie player decides he wants that item/ reward and sticks around well past the point he realizes this game is broken. SOE picks up some more coin and can now afford to actually pay a programmer to help fix this mess.

Dam well im not a day 1 or two vet. But I did get in the game inthe third week. And I have not missed one day in all that time. Even if it was only to do 1 or 2 things in game. Maybe they could give rewards for multi accts to. I currently run 5 accts lol Ok I get bored and yes they are all mine I have a dance/musicisn bot. Two crafting accts a master jedi a loot whore and a BH.

Veteran Rewards are a great addition to the game. I must say that I was really excited getting my Yacht, and for playing as long as I have, it was ample reward. Think about it. They could have made this ship an extremely rare loot drop and four players on your server would have one. Instead, they hooked up their long time customers. One of the coolest things they've done so far.

A few ideas from a long time vet...

· Extra Lots
· Extra Skill Points
· +1 free basic novice box – i.e add 0000 medic to your template, cannot train medic skills w/o spending the SPs though. (i.e. use a stim or survey w/o the prof)
· XP modifier (+10%)
· XP modifier for previously mastered class. (i.e. redoing CH only takes 50% XP)
· FP modifier (+10%)
· Extra storage space (Inventory or Safe Deposit Box)
· Interest bearing bank account
· Non-Craftable clothing (Think SE Goggles type thing)
· Decay modifier (-10%)
· Bonus to experimentation (+10 Clothing Attachment at 1yr, another at 2 Years)
· Bonus to assembly (+10 Clothing Attachment at 1yr, another at 2 Years)
· B.Y.O.A. = +10 clothing attachment where player chooses the skill.
· Bonus to buffs from food or support classes (+10% strength and duration)
· Low level food-type bonuses permanent on the character
· +100 pts to spend on HAMs
· Bonus to loot tables (better chance of looting better items)
· Ability to add hexcodes to item names
· Bonus schematics
· Bonus weapon/tool certs (profession loyalty?)
· Bonus to resources (resource stats behave as +5% of base on assembly)
· Skill retention from previous class. (i.e keep /areatrack or /sample after dropping a profession)
· Weapon cert retention from previous class. (i.e keep flamethrower or LLC after dropping a profession - you'd lose all modifiers etc, but not suffer from the not certified restriction)
· Encode veteran player names/stories into NPC dialogs.
· Bonus character slot
· Physical "official" Action figure of one of your characters sent to you. Player chooses an outfit, a couple of accessories, and goes to the cloning center. 6-8 weeks later, Hasbro sends you an action figure with your character in a blister pack with their picture and bio on the package.
· Reduced costs for maintainance, repairs, cloning, tickets, bazaar sales, etc.
· Badges
· Medals
· Veteran Skill Titles (i.e Veteran Master Doctor)
· Pension – character earns 50K cr/wk or something.
· Strong connections – character has reduced TEF/Overt timers

...I am going to be really honest here, the yacht is a mixture of a bribe and a reward. I don't have a problem with that because I respect the fact that the game we so love has to be profitable to remain viable, but at the same timethe fact remains that if you didnot buy JTL then youhave not recieved any reward.Even if you have been here since day one...

I'll just echo what Blackjack said. As a veteran who's been playing since about a month after SWG release but who didn't buy JTL, I never got a "veteran's reward". Unlike Blackjack, though, I've always had a problem with that. It's not a reward if you have to buy it. If they had called ita Reward for buyingJTL, then I'd be ok with it. If I had received the yacht even though I can't use it, I would be ok with it. If they never gave out veteran's rewards, I'd be ok with that. As it is, that was the worse kind of mis-leading advertising/marketing you'll see. As a"veteran" I was promised a reward, and they didn't deliver. I'm not too hopeful about any future "veteran's reward".

I would like to see some rewards that are viable for those of us that have been around nearly 2 years. these rewards for players that have been around for 3 months but what about us old times that will be hitting 2 years this year?

ChewGoBack - Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you might want to consider looking at veteran rewards from a diffrent perspective.

You might have heard about a game called Ultima Online? It was a ground breaking MMORPG and continues to capture the immagination and attention of a hugh player base to this day. I opened three UO accounts 2 weeks after it came online. Those accounts are still active. That was around 6 years ago! I play on Baja (Lance Maxwell, Templer).

Anyhow, back then, Ralph Koster was known as Designer Dragon. We all know him better today as Holocron. (BTW I am a HUGH fan!!) I have a feeling that he was the force behind getting Veteran rewards into UO, and that he played a hand here in SWG as well. With that in mind, I am certain that Ralph has made known the importance of a great Veteran Rewards program to the Dev team he overwatchs and having SOETyrant confirm the fact that Veteran Rewards are moving forward is all the reassuance that I needed.

Check out the Rewards that folks can get in the UO world.
http://uo.stratics.com/content/misc/vetrewards.shtml

SOETyrant - Thank you so very much for the responses! I can't wait to see what is in store!!

Here is something that is well, profound:
My UO accounts are in my Will. They go to my daughter and in the event that she does not want them, they are to go to her elementary school. Each year the student voted "most helpful" will have account access for the whole year. The UO account trust fund I setup will keep the account active as long as there is a server to play on. I can't live forever, but would it not be something if my great grand children could play the same characters that I did?! Think about that for a moment. Whould if you could weild that same sword that your ancestors did? Well you can! I have come to realize that my online heritage holds great value for me and it is something that should not die out with age, rather it should live on and be passed from generation to generation. Just like any family heirloom should be. Veteran Rewards are good....

I liked a lot of the reward options i was reading. Here's my ideal. I think the special items and things along that line are cool for holidays and special promotions and what not. But what if a system was in place that let you choose a reward that suited your character. Let's say after a year or so you got the option to choose from a list. Maybe it would be a stat bonus, or a few extra lots, or some more sp. and from that list you could only choose one. Then after another year you get the same type of options, and you could choose another one, even it it was the same one again. That way you could get something that would beneift you specificly. And we would have to worry about "overpowered" vets running amuck, because it would take so long in between rewards. Think of it in terms like. You managed to keep yourself alive during the GCW, and as a result it's made you a stronger person to continue your fight

I agree with the poster. Been playing for over 18 months now and I have 3 accounts, the latest only being a month old. The 2nd account is 16 months old.

I love my yacht, but the fact it takes both a lot and a ship slot is a real pain. My main is a pure performer, and my fully-decorated yacht is a place whereI hold parties and invite friends, so it has to stay.

As a master privateer, there is no way I would get rid of my YT-1300, even if multiplayer ships are buggy and not worth it in combat now. There is a coolness and pride factor associated with my YT-1300 and since it's also semi-decorated, redeeding all the time is not an option.

And my 3rd slot has to be for my krayt fighter, which rocks. It is ideal for DS PvE, especially when it comes toattacking nova courriers, gunboats, corvettes or the rebel base. But it is too slow for PvP. A fast Dunelizard would be ideal but is too fragile in PvE since the AI accuracy is too high despite dodging at high speeds.

Now why am I being penalized like this for my yacht? Switching parts over in a krayt and a DL is too much hassle. I'm already paying 1 lot for my yacht, why does it have to take up a ship slot too??? it's hardly a reward. And a reward like this should be coveted... now everyone has one. 6 months is hardly a veteran when the game is 19 months old. Why not give us real rewards? And do not forget those who do not have JTL. It does not apply to me since all my 3 accounts are JTL-enabled, but there are some people who are just not into space and who have been here a long time. Something that will keep the people who started in Summer 2003 in the game, and something thatwould keep the new players in game for another year at least, which is enough time to fix combat and the GCW.

I think veteran rewards should not be game-unbalancing, but they should make it really worthwile. Here are some suggestions:

  • Make the yacht NOT take up one ship slot, allowing 3 ships + yacht. It's not a combat ship anyways.

  • Give an extra 5 skill points (total 255 skill points) to all toons created on an account with an uninterrupted 2-year subscription. (Now, *that* would keep a lot of people around while you fix combat and GCW). 5 skill points would be an awesome reward without really unbalancing the game. 1 skill box is hardly a "pwning" factor. And the 5 points would be revoked if you cancel and renew.

  • Add new rewards for the 1-year and 18-month marks.

  • DO NOT give cash rewards or profession-specific items.

  • 1 extra lot every 6 months of uninterrupted subscription would also be nice. People already do lot swaps and have 30-40 lots anyways, so this is not game-unbalancing either. This would also be revoked if you cancelled and renewed.

  • 1 extra ship slot for JTL owners for ever year of uninterrupted subscription.

  • A new kind of cool looking (untradeable) backpack that holds 75 items would also be great for 1-year vets.

  • A new kind of generic large house that holds 300 items. it would have a new look and would flag the owner as a long time player (like 18+ months). It would require lots and maintenance, but the deed would allow you to place a new one if you do not have one placed down already, and the deed would be untradeable and the structure would not support /transferstructure.

  • Cool in-game decorative items are great for rewards as well, but getting more decorations only gets boring after a while.

  • lastly, some of us paid an extra 30+$ for the Special/Collector's Edition and all we got was goggles. Would be cool to get a minor decorative/wearable veteran reward just for the SE owners after 1-year. Something like a new goggle design, a real wearable space suit (no mods), or something along those lines.

All these are great suggestions that people would go nuts over and yet they do not hurt the game, and reward both JTL and non-JTL players. Would love to hear feedback from the devs or players on these.

Only thing I saw wrong with a "reward" is it requiring me to sacrifice my economic viability (on any level) by requiring a lot to use. Rewards that cost me the ability to collect resources in the game to enjoy are simply sitting on the bookshelf collecting dust.

i think you need to be carfeful when dealing out rewards..

Veteran rewards should not..

1.rewarded players advantage over non-reward players

2. should not give them anadvantage in the economy

basically any reward that a veteran receives should be "inert" as far as the game goes.. hence the reason the only 2 rewards so far have been the painting and the yacht, which the yacht cannot be modified or used in combat (essentially its just a bus)..
