I like CDEF weapons....but only the crafted variety. When I'm turning a character into a carbineer, I invariably use a sliced CDEF carbine up until xx3x.
But then again, I also fight unbuffed and in chitin armor. I guess I'm just crazy like that.

um maybe its a noob question but what does CDEF stand for, i mean u see so many does it stand for Crudly Demented Economic Firearm

No one knows for sure, but the big thought on it is that it stands for "Civilian DEFense" Pistol, which would rather make sense because its crappy enough that anyone off the street could afford one. Not sure if defense is really worth it though, when it takes 5-10 shots to kill even the weakest NPCs.
