I'd have to say i agree with skye on this one, chilastra has some pretty bad afk macroers... i dont midn the cantina type, but at lord nyax its terrible, ruins the POI for all of us

Well, as a dancer I can pretty much say the "cantina type" ruins the cantina for all the real entertainers. The afk'ers and supporters are pretty much doing the same thing the loot campers do, which is taking away our abilities to make credits and healing experience...just like the looters take away the combatants abilities to get loot and experience.

DarkYoda posted a clicky above. It's a good read. And, when you read it, remember it's satire and the point is afk is bad. My hope is that as more and more professions are overrun with afk bots and campers, that all the professions can come together as a community and demand that this be dealt with as soon as possible. The devs have certainly been known to change the way things work (shuttle timers, for example), if the community has a large outcry. AFK looters and bots deserve a large outcry. Let's give it to them and get this removed so that those of, entertainer, crafter, combatant, or other can enjoy this game by actually playing. Those who aren't really there and who aren't playing simply don't deserve considerations over those who want to play.

There is a very simple solution to this problem, and it's coming soon.

Just eliminate /ui action toolbarSlotxx as an available command.

On chilastra we have a person afk macroing lord nyax and monopolizing the spawn. Something needs to be done about this. On top of this, he is using the droid exploit to be able to keep himself buffed the whole time, with his rifleman/doc alt. me and 3-4 others have submitted many tickets concerning this, and have gotten shady answers back. Saying they are looking into it, its been 4 days, what more do they have to do. get in game, look at them doing it, and do something about it.

Unfortunately there is nothing they can do about the AFK looting, it is not considered against the rules. As for the droid exploit, well something should be done about that at least. You know how long it takes them to do anything though, just be patient and keep on sending in tickets until they get sick of you.

Just as a suggestion to cure this.

When the Bottom level Boss of any POI/Dungeon re-spawns all Players in that dungeon are automatically booted to the entrance. Making the Dungeon "semi" instanced.

This will not cureall issues of camping but will make redundent the most hated version- AFK camping!

I know that it affect gameplay of genuine players on occasion by booting out when part way down. However, I feel, the benefits far outwiegh the downside. With the new fast respawn timer the inconvenience of this is minimised.

I would just like to say that Sony has given me one thing. A truely new experience: considering Microsoft to be the lesser of two evils.

Last time I looked, AFK macroing is against the rules, you are supposed to be sitting at your keyboard while playing - you may macro if you still sit in front of your keyboard, and you may choose not to respond to player tells. But not responding to a CSR tell several times is violating the terms of use...

And there have been plenty of instances where CSRs have "locked" the character from movement. All i takes to defeat the AFK macro lord is to lock the toon if no live responses are received after a set amount of time. Problem with this is, with all the POIs, and all the looters - We only have so many CSRs to go around.

Yes it can be dealt with read the community standards:

3. You may not disrupt the normal playability of a game world area.

Area Disruption is defined as any activity, intentional or unintentional, which harms or inconveniences a larger number of players. Causing a disruption may result in disciplinary action being taken against the account that may include official warnings, account suspensions, or account terminations depending on the severity of the incident which will be determined by a CSR and a CSR Supervisor. Multiple suspensions or account termination will result in the termination of all SOE game accounts.

Disruption includes, but is not limited to, such things such as:

  • Deliberately blocking a doorway or narrow area so other players cannot get past.
Making excessive and inappropriate use of spatial communications, i.e. spamming.
  • Placing any object (such as pets, droids, structures, city facilities) which prevent access to game content (anything in the game, including city structures, houses, caves, mission terminals, etc.) or trap other customers.
  • Using graphics intensive weaponry to duel in high traffic areas*
  • Organizing, holding, or participating in protests held in high traffic areas (such as busy Starports or other areas where many players normally gather).

why don't you just get a group together, go down there, and out-damage him?

on Eclipse there is always at least 2 - 5 campers in there just greedily eating up every single spawn, so the causal hunters don't stand a chance.

We went down there with like 5 - 7 of us and got the loot no problem, it's funny too, seeing the people that have been down there for hours and you come along, start taking the spawn back and get some pretty decent loot you share between your group mates

That's really the only thing you can do right now, as long as SWG continues to have lack of content and no POI control, the game will continue to churn out these gutless greedy twerps that mob-hog all the POI and dungeons. The game already sucks bad enough , and with the loot system in shambles this is just another negative issue pressed on my greedy players.

Suggestion: don't leave it up to the CSR's to do something about it, suit up, group up, go down there and take the spawn back.

Instead of crying in a corner as a victim, get a group of 3 riflemen together, and go out damage him. Leave your toonscamping nyaxover night and donate the proceeds to charity or something. Work out a system with another guild or two to rotate the spot so that no matter what, he will never get the loots. He is only 1.5 people (his doc alt is .5). The best you can do about him is complain to the devs and on the forums? Common, take some responsability for the situation. Big brother cannot and does not always help.

I really don't think this is correct. Do you have some references we can look at that support your claim? From a game defevelopement stand point, that would be increadably stupid to make the system work like that. Then again, the borgle bat cave, and 20 min nyax both prove that stupid game developement policies are very "starwarzy".
