Thread: GDK Scales? Are they dropping since Pub 12?

I know they are a rare drop but has anyone looted one since Pub 12? I don't know if they are borked like the krayts are. Thanks

Actually, Process, Krayts were broken for a day or two.
There were many reports that they weren't dropping anything at all -- and I tested this myself.
However, that's been fixed, and I'm sure they probably fixed GDKs too.

One of my big goals in SWG is being able to make a couple suits of RIS. I am very interested to learn if things are working again.
I am pretty sure theywere broken because a buddy and I downed about 30 of the hosers and got nothing.All the ones we downed were out in the wild too, not at kimotown.There were other reports of people killing 50+ and not getting one drop. Not only were they not getting the GDK scale, they wernt getting anything.
If anyone can confirm any drops that would be outstanding. Thanks

I wouldn't be too concerned about getting no drops in 30 kills , it took me around 60 to get my first drop a few months ago.

A couple full ris suits?
I got my suit and 30 kills is less than 10 spawns. That isn't uncommon.
Usually wild spawns have 4 GDK's. The town GDK does drop scales. I looted 3 ris scales from it on 1 occassion.
You can expect to kill 100 for a drop. I figure 1 in every 20-50 spawns drops. That has been my experience.

I wasn't aware that the drop rate was so rare. It looks like I am going to have to work much harder then I thought, but no worries there.
Yes, a couple suits one for me, one for a friend that wants one too. (he will be helping of course)
When was the most recent drop that you have had though?? It has been widely rumored of late that the one in kimo town doesnt drop period. But I have gotten the normal armor segments from that beast so it makes me wonder

It is just a rumor. It has been stated numerous times every patch by someone that the kimo town doesn't drop RIS component scales. Sometime during patch 11 I looted the 3. I didn't hang my ris quest on that 1 spawn. However, if I came across that gdk and it was there to be killed I would tell you you might get lucky.
Wild spawns are far more likely to drop a scale. My RIS drops where a 3 scale drop and a 10 scale drop. I had previously bought 4 scales from others. That allowed me to have a total of 18 scales come RIS suit construction time. I paid the smith 9 million for the crafting, plus provided 3% yellow geo cubes, 2 interwoven ris schematics, Janta hide and my other components. The suits stats are pretty incredible. I can post them later if your interested but its base is around 76% on all pieces. vul. Stun Acid Lightsaber. Enjoy the screenie

idk i think the kimos are broke i have killed 30 in the last 3 days not 1 loot i was pissed

Me and a friend have worked out butts off getting enough components for 4 suits of ris. But we have not been able to loot a single GDK scale. Recently I found someone willing to craft me a helmt for a few woolmander frags. So of corse I did it, only to find out Rodese cant wear RIS... 
Guess my friend gets all the components now...

30 kills without looting scales is just the tip of the iceberg.
I'm currently at around 174 kills without looting a scale. Been working on it on and off for about a year.
