Thread: Agree or Disagree...loot inequality and drops from high level NPCs/Creatures

TH.....In the last 3 days myself and a group of others have killed, 1 dark jedi knight, 3 Nightsister elders, countless spell weavers, sentinels and 7 gorax, and I myself have killed 200+ level 200 or higher marauders. The grand total of these creatures HAM has got to be over 15 million. You know the total loot we got off of everything but the marauders? about 2349 credits. With the 200+ marauders the only thing I got worth anything was a couple of DOT SG82s (barely considered to be decent)
Now I usually don't complain about loot cause I get my fair share. But with the new system why should I be getting nothing from the most difficult creatures/npcs in the game? Should they drop something every kill? Probably not. But why spend the time, getting a decent group, buffs and resources for nada. Oh and I got 3000 xp for the gorax?
It seems I have gotten more and better loot from the Alamo or stupid thugs. I hope that the new loot system PROMOTES the desire to attack and risk death against high level NPCs instead of people looking for a spawn of Swoopers.
Just my 2 credits.

Give it a little time till everyone got their houses, factories and vendors stocked with this new loot. Im sure more will agree along the way.
Devs did a great job on designing most of the new loot, too bad this is how its handed to us

i myself and i think a lot of others agree that loot should scale to the level of mob you kill (no disk fragments from something like a NS elder). however i think a possible reason why nothing has changed yet is that the devs feel we're too strong asa lot of playerssoloing just about everything in game.
when the CU happens i expect (not hope ...or SOE will feel the flames) that both mobs will be realigned (at least in damage output..asking for a reduction here...hams and armor could possibly stay as is) and that loot will be more balanced (scaled to mobs...drop rate upped for higher lvl mobs).

Good point. It is frustrating to see better loot show up on weaker mobs.

Why the 1 star? This is SILLY! People one star one person but not the people who agree? TH..i thought you were going to be revealing 1 star bandits? Someone out there has a avg rating given of 1 star. I think they should have their rating ability revoked. Not everything they read can be that bad....or can it? lol

It just seems like you've had a bad couple of days loot-wise really. Happens sometimes , i'vegone for long periods getting rubbish from NS other times i've come away with a load of great stuff (3 premiums in a row from elders made me quite happy heh).
And are you really saying that you think you get better loot from meatlumps than from elders in general?

Well good question. answer is no.
I guess that I was hoping loot would work like this:
Higher level of creature/npc = always better loot. (maybe this is the case)
High frequency of spawn of creature/npc = less quality loot more often, high quality loot less often
Low frequency of spawn of creature/npc = more frequent loot (Nyax should drop a exceptional item EVERY time since he spawns ever couple of hours. high quality loot 90% and above. I should never get rebel transmission from Nyax when I can get it from a weak swooper. But a weak swooper should never have a premium crystal.
I just feel that the things that take more time to find, more time to kill you should be rewarded.
The system may already be set up like this. In fact I may have read that it is. But it seems to just be a mathematical formula that isn't working.
Maybe we did just have a bad run at it.

What I love lately is the fact that I am DELETING more loot than I am saving! lol
I have deleted hundreds of Luke posters and Technical Console Schematics. It is also crazy how lax security is in the Rebellion and Empire that all these "plans" and "orders" are all over the place..lol
I wish there was a way that you could refuse certain loot, or put a cap on how much you take of it.
I guess Lukie boy is a major criminal for blowing the deathstar cause everyone is carrying around his mug.

I feel sorry for anybody who payed a bunch for one of these posters. I am on kettemoor and have several sitting around. If you dont have one yet send me an email and I will give you one ofthe three extra I have. BTW has anybody looted any good Krayt tissue (90+ damage)since pub12?

I totally agree with scaling , elders dropping cargo pockets drives me insane , i'd rather see an empty corpse. However i think droprates per se are just fine for the really fantastic loot. And Nyax dropping exceptional loot every time? No. One NPC pumping exceptional items into a server (8 per day-ish 365 days ayear?) would be wrong and make such items too commonplace.
I would also like to see more high end specific loot , maybe move NS vibro blade units over to elders , not just Axkva. Add in NS clothes and more armour maybe , banners and such. Just cool stuff you can keep or sell so you're not disappointed at getting no premiums or +25 SEAs.

My only issue with the Loot system at the moment is that the Rebel NPC's don't drop any of the new stuff! (I did get a Orange Rug Adehsive a few nights ago.. that was nice)
And as a Wepon Smith... Dear God YES!! move the NS motors to the Elders!!!
