OMG does loot suck in this game. I mean pathetic. Always has been really, but at least the holo hunting gave the promise of great riches and time well spent if you get one. I dont know how many times i've been disappointed by the lame loot they hand out in this game, as though its bought right out of the dev's pay cheques or something.

I played WoW for about a month, and although i think SWG has much more promise as a game (ive been saying this for over a year though ), my god was it nice to look forward to loot! If you killed a high level mob in WoW, you are guranteed loot of some kind, and actually useful stuff, not just decoration. I didnt realize how much of that aspect was missing in this game until i experienced it in another. I remember even when i first started, how much of a let down it was for a group of us to make our way through the Mokk Caves (bone armor and FWG5's were the best of the best at this time), and basically get nothing as a reward for our effort.

Why have the cave there even? To stare at the blank walls? Here the silence that gives the place such ambience? Risk time spent on buffs, preperation, etc. so your group can share in the reward of....nothing?

The last time i logged on, i went krayt hunting with some guildies, which i havent done in ages, and i was quickly reminded why. We were luck y enough to find a spawn, killed 4, and looted a few segments, which basically is garbage. Took about 3 hours from beginning of buffs to end of hunt, and i found i had yet again wasted my time playing a game without reward.

High level mobs like krayts, sister elders, etc. should ALWAYS loot something. The krayts should loot attachments, or mods that a crafter can use to improve weapons/armor/clothes with skill mods. The reason the economy is so out of wack, like paying millions for skill attachments, is because there are so few out there, who wants to spend endless hours killing high end mobs for nothing in return? Get the stuff people want out there, and the price will come down, and the interest will come back in group hunts, etc. Theres lots of ways to add useful loot to the game, that wont take crafters out of the loop.

Wow, did this get long winded. I could say more, but then i have countless times, and nothings changed for over a year now. To summarize, ADD SOME LOOT TO THIS FRIGGIN GAME!!! (not just posters and decorations, but like, stuff thats actually useful and worth putting the time in for).

I agree. The loot doesn't have to be uber... just useful. It took me (look, I said "me", okay?) a year of killing Janta before I got any Janta blood for example.

What am I gonna do with millions, trillions of wood staffs, stone knifes and reinforced polearms?

Have either of you not been playing SWG the past month?

We now have in place of the craptastic CDEF pitsols:

Posters, Paintings, New Loot Kit parts, schematics, saber crystals, attribute stim packs (rifle speed, dodge, etc)

Now if only the devs would blow up the DWB and make mandalorian armor a process similar to RIS....

Well, for starters, as a smuggler i just love getting a wood stave , man thats 100 slicing exp! And as to loot sucking thats your opinion, i love nothing more that finding a loot kit part that i have 500 of, or a useless 5 charge +10 to a skill i dont have stimpack!

and dont get me started on the 40 or so bio engineer posters i looted yesterday!

To answer you're first question, no i havent. Like many others i know, the game has been going downhill for a while, and a break is needed unless i quit entirely.

I realize they have done a 'loot revamp' and added in some neat decorations (lemme jump for joy for a sec) and some new loots, but this is just a half measure like every other fix. Most of this stuff can be found on Meatlumps and other assorted crap. Im talkin about goin after high end mobs, and then looting nothing at all. Sorry, a Han Solo poster just wont cut it for this. Why not a few attachments or some other types of mods that can be used by crafters?A few of them at least to share with the group you went with. Everyone complains about being able to solo these high end mobs, why bring a group to waste their time when one person can do it alone?

Again, i could go on, but i think it should be fairly easy to come up with some of this stuff, and if it aint, this game is friggin doomed. My point is, make my time spent online at least seem worthwile. Give me a reward for playing, its not like it comes out of the fee i pay every month.

I've been playing Galaxies in the past month...

I can assure you - killing NS Elders and gettinga cargo pocket is a *joke*. Killing Tuskens for half an hour and getting more tapestry and hide schematics than I'd everuse in decoration (and I'm a ranger, one to two hides in my house is fine thank you very much)is a *joke*.

I don't honestly care about how pretty my house is to look at, it's full of weapons, armour, foods, and clothes that I use to play the game with.

I'd like to loot things that make me fight better - yeah - so I can have 10 minutes x 5 uses of extra speed or what if I grind desert demons or meatlumps for an hour or so- yay, what fun...

I'd like to loot components to give to my crafters that didn't suck - why are there no good barrels or stocks or feed mechs lootable in a dungeon to make better or different weapons with?

And don't make comments like - "why can't the dev's blow up DWB?" That's one of the things they've done *right*. Mando/Jetpacks are fine just the way they are... rare high end loot that requires teamwork and skill, not how many GDK's can we camp today.

We need middle class loot, and lots of it - preferably stuff that complements crafters as well so all are happy. Posters? *snore* Weapons and Powerups, Armour and shiny things are good.

Please don't take offense, but I'm not an interior decorator. I play the game for fun and my fun is treasure and blasters and shiny things. Goblin I may be, but I'm a down to earth one. Star Wars isn't about the interior decor, it's about adventure and danger and space ships and smugglers and... the list goes on.

#edit# Thanks however 1*'d me. Obviously my post stating grinding = bad irked you, or that killing the toughest creatures in the game should requisition more than the old Jabba's Theme Park loot ruffled your feathers. Maybe it was the part about DWB - saying how the Dev's got high level loot right in this instance (see the other thread on this forum at solo'ing the place). I didn't declare I should be uber and leet and have a gazillion credits. I said I liked treasure and loot and things to play with - and that I didn't find tapestries much fun. If you do - good for you.

Yes - I'd love to see more dungeons that have component drops (Krayt hunting is sooo passe), and Geo Labs is for a few specific weapons mainly - would help reduce prices on materials as well if barrel/stock/scope and segment drops were up.

Let's not even go near the Bio Engineers elusive secret data that hasn't been put into the game.

Why in 18 months of SWG being running have only 3 new dungeons of note been added, and why on top of this have the storylines been stopped? Maybe the loot from there (i.e. data decoder and it's ilk) were too much hassle for the devs to develop.

Maybe I'm wrong - maybe I'm just being simple and thinking that treasure and playthings are fun - or maybe I touched a nerve saying pretty things weren't for me (Because if I want pretties, I can go to a gallery, or a museum or into the real world elsewhere). *Shrugs* I'll never know - the bandits never do have enough steel to create a counter arguement.

And before any one declares me leet or uber, I'm a ranger. That's 140 skill points on non stacking/non ubah combat skills. Hell, most of our skills are worthless... Guess maybe that's why the bandit bandited. #End edit#

Yesterday I looted a stone knife that had a poison with strength = 1.

There isn't much point for most of the weapon loot we get unless its very high end or has a nice DOT. For the most part I think weapon loot right now is a strike out that you just delete. Its no different than getting a Dud Firework. If they remove it then it just means we'll get something else for the junk loot. /shrug

But there is a lot of nice loot in the game. Its the No Division poster or the good crystal that you're really trying to get. And I particularly like the new stuff from the last patch. Its been fun hunting for that stuff.

I just wish that the loot my guild brought me I didn't have to laugh at. IMO looted components should be better80% of time than craftable components, as it stands 99% of the timethey get destroyed without a look. Very sad. Another issue with the current loot system is that it doesn't bring crafter and combat professions closer together rather it creates and "us" and "them" mentality, where the "rich"crafters have combat professions "over a barrell" and are forced to buy products at higher and higher prices.

Useful New Loot:

Combat: Skill Stims

Crafting: Recyclers

Collector's New Loot:

Paintings

Decorations

For everyone who keeps complaining about lack of useful loot.. The least you can do is offer your suggestions about what kind of useful loot you want. Constantly complaining does nothing for the game and will only result in an even worse playing experience for you. Same thing with "lack of content" complainers who never offer suggestions. For the most part I think these players will never be happy and should just quit to free up some room for those who appreciate the game.

Ya, any time I seem to get a pistol barrel the stats are about 50% of what any master WS can make. I dont' see the point of dropping that kind of loot. If the component statswere higher than what a crafter then I don't think that would hurt anyone. The looter and crafter could work together to make a uber item. ala more stuff like Kryat tissues etc.

I'm afraid you are missing the point of SW:G (well one of them). If you would only find useful stuff from mobs, why would anyone be a crafter when you can just go out and loot everything?

Thats why most loot is decoration/novelty items.

to summarize his post. "PUT IN SOME LOOT ON MOBS I LIKE TO SOLO SO I CAN MAKE 29837429037492713904712903749821 CREDITS!!!"

make some FUNCTIONAL and PRACTICAL suggestions and they will listen. will it happen right away? no. MAY it happen sometime. sure.

if you can't stand the game that much, leave. there are things that make me upset too about the game. there are things in the game that are really fun, I.E. new loot that you have to venture out and get. is it easy to get the loot, sure thing. but it's still fun.
