Hey,

Few people asked me to put some screenshots of the Datapad components up (Just managed to complete my first one - not that it actually does anything at the moment it seems lol)

Datapad Housing: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=187806

Datapad Battery: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=187811

Datapad Connectors: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=187807

Datapad Backlight: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=187808

Completed Datapad: http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&tp=187809

All looted from the Aakuan caves (in my case on Bria). Sorry no clickies, too tired to RTFM.

So now what do you do with it?

I agree. I like the fancy pens renamed as datapad connectors. GAY. And this is lame loot anyway for so much work and different parts you have to find. What good is a datapad that might read some disk that has no bearing on anything? dumb. I do like the other new loots though. The wanted posters are awesome and the bubble tank, tanning hides etc. are also cool.

When examined the datapadsays something along the lines 'perhaps if a working datadisk is added the information can be read'.

I found a couple of disks in space where one of them reads 'how to mine' maybe its a device needed to enable some hidden game features?

I also found a 'working' datadisk on a NS elder the other day, would be fun to see what happens if a disk and the datapad is combined.

Promotes fraud IMO.

Datapad Housing: I've never seen this one before

Datapad Battery: Droid Motive things, also come in advanced flavor. And IIRC it is also one of the master artisan components. I wonder why they didn't just use the droid battery?

Datapad Connectors: Someone already said pens. I don't know if I've seen them in game myself.

Datapad Backlight: Yet another droid engineer sub-component for droid repair/reconstruction kits.

Keep us informed and let us know when you find a disk that works in it and thanks for the screens.

Well...I looted a load of "Datadisks" from some Maulers...9 of them from one npc. They did nothing so thought maybe they'd fit right into the datapad, tried it and nothing.

As far as I can tell at this current moment in time the Completed Datapad does nothing. I hear in Loot Pass 2 (yes, if it EVER happens), that new content will be introduced into the game via datadisks that will be readable by the Completed Datapad.

a lot of art is recycled in the game.. given different names... these just happen to be loot components with art from existing items... so i dont see how its fraud

Are other broken loots like the broken binoculers useful or are they still junk?

I'll sell you a datapad battery and datapad backlight for 100k each then. Need more than 1 each? I'll cut you a deal and sell you 5 of each for 350k?

...just don't look at the descriptions...

See how it promotes fraud now? I never said it was fraud. I just hate "spelling it out" and possibly giving someone ideas.

How hard could it be to add new art? I really don't think that space is an issue...have you checked the size of your SWG folder lately?
