After having the game pre ordered for coming up two months now i thought i should find out. so i emailed play.com and got a reply saying they've never heard anything about a bonus disk to be sent to pre order customers. and they believe the delay is due to not enough copies of JTL being made, but thats irrelevant.

So anyone know a UK company that is doing pre order flash speeder disks, if not i'll stick with play.com after all its not their fault. the email i got was very helpful and even told me i still had time to cancel my order and explained how to do it (not that i needed to know, but its the thought that counts).

Thought i'd share the info.

to query other europeans, did any of you get a flash speeder for pre order? or was this something that's been reserved for US citizens and those that ordered from the states only...

its reserved for US orders only. and only from gamestop or EBgames

sucks but its no big deal.the flash speeder is ugly anyway.looks like a baked bean with wings.

plus its only as fast as an X-34

Non American players are an after thought to SOE (is it really so hard to release a game on the same day wherever you live?)

Idont see why where i live or who i shop with should effect my rights as a customer to SOE. i've dealt with SOE before, and i should have stayed away, but i was blinded by the stah wahsyness of it all.

The flash speeder avaiability was based on where you ordered it from, not where you live. If you had preordered it from EBGames.com you should have gotten the speeder.

No, you did not: I ordered from EBGames and they not only changed my order without consent but they flatly deny to let me even have a key for the flash-speeder - all I got was the same prefabricated answer-mail for any request I sent them. I have dropped the matter now, feeling that it is of no avail anyway and having learned the hard way to never ever preorder a SOE-product again <shrug>...

I live in the UK and ordered it from the states from Gamestop. It was here on the 27th or 28th Oct when I was on holiday and came with the Beta Disk so I got the free flash speeder. Including postage it worked out at about £5 more I think than buying it here. Thats not including travel costs to go into town etc to actually buy it. I dunno why people that wanted the speeder didnt just order from the states.

Just had a look on there, JTL is listed at sale price, what a bargain - $9999.95!! Cheap at half the price

Gratz, you had more luck than I did then!

I actuallyordered from EBGames and this is their prefabricated mail that I got every time I tried to contact them (relevant sentence coloured by me):

i don't think it should matter where you live, but the offer was exclusive to EB Games and GameStop, so it does matter where you shop

SOE aviod the obvious cries of discrimination by passing the buck, no it doesn't matter where you live, but for contractural reasons the disks are only available at the two aformentioned retailers.

The retailers will not send the bonus disk outside of the US, chances that SOE knew about this when setting up the deal were high, if not they have failed to do anything about it. and it is very simply discrimination. and look at it numbers wise for a moment.

1st Sony have financial and manufacturing bases in both the US and EU (i used to work at the EU r&d EU hq) so shipping and exchange rates aren't an issue for a company of thier size.

2nd the pound has been very strong against the dollar for some time, (at 1 point very nearly $2 to the £1) yet my subscription still cost £9.49 per month, and at that time that was $19.00, and although not quite that high, we in the UK still pay more for the monthly suscription only to be shunted to the back like a bad smell or the relative they wish they could forget about.

1 month i thought i would try paying in dollars, c if the exchange rate charge would save me money overall, guess what i saved 50 pence! now i know for 1 customer it could be understood a little, but there are a great many non-US players, and i am sick to death of the center of the universe attitude SOE place on the US.....
