Thread: Creating character on TestCenter?

If I create a character on TC to run various tests of things is it just like a normal server where I have to grind everything? OR, are there those blue frog things I've read about which I can use to make a template to test things on?


The second option would seem logical to me as this is meant to be the 'Test' center, but.....


If the blue frogs template creaters are available where are they located?

blue frogs come out on TC2 or similar servers which happens before a big update of some sort to get things fully tested.

TC1, the main test center, which the last time i launched my TC client was the only one available to the public is just like any other server, plays just the same, your just 1 patch ahead of the rest.

The Test Center is set up to mirror a live server as close as possible. The only difference between the TC and a Live Server is we seethe newer code (patches) first. So we don't have the "Blue Frogs", but we do have a dedicated and close community. Most anything you can find on a live server you can find on the Test Center and some things you won't find on live servers very easy. Its just a matter of knowing where to look. But you do have to technically start all over, its just like starting over on any other live server.

Most everyone can be found in the various player cities, and you will only see people on the NPC cities if they are traveling for hunting.


We have several player cities on the Test Center where most anything can be found:



  • Skystone - at -200, 3800 west of Mos Entha on Tatooine - You can find weapons, speeders, droids, JTL ships and parts and Entertainers and shuttle service

  • Dragons Call - has shuttle service, in the SW corner of Tatooine, you can find armor, weapons, chef foods, and other items. They have the DC mall, and the Flaming Wookie mini mall.

  • New Unity - North of Theed on planet map, Various vendors and an active cantina at times.

  • Lustria - Near Tyrena, Corellia check planet map. Weapons and other various items can be found here as well.

  • Thorns Haven - 1600m straight out from the Theed Starport. Various vendors offering just about any item.

  • Tombstone - near Bestine, this is home to PvP -(R)ebel and PvP - (I)mperial this city is dedicated to testing the various changes with PvP Contact Osrix for Imperial or Stootee for Rebel.

There are some other player cities I haven't listed here, I haven't been to them enough to see what all they offer.


But I've been involved on the Test Center sincethis pastJanurary. And I've enjoyed my time there, and have made several friends. The main things i like about the Test Center is we have a close community, and you can have 3 characters per account there. So your not limited like you are on a live server.


And I've taken two characters from newbies to masters of their respective fields,. One Character is a Master Artisan, Master Weaponsmith and Master Merchant. The other Character is a Master Marksman, Master Commando and 0404 BH. I have a 3rd Character that I haven't decided what to do with it yet.


And one other thing you can find people on our server wide chat channel by typing /chat join TCPA

great info, cheers MichailArris, i must admit i usualy only use the TC when there is a patch, or im really bored of my current character and want to see whats going on in the next patch.

after the info you've given i'm tempted to take playing there more seriously.
