Things that need to be added to this guide
1) /camo is less effective and more liable to break than /maskscent
2) camps are pointless as droids and speeders can be brought out without them
3) tracking is less effective than using speeders to search the area
4) added traps are no better than the scout traps
5) /forage is increasinging likely to find specials, as no specials have been put into the game foraging fails

why would there be a guide for Ranger ? This is the most broke profession in the game and a complete joke. A master scout with a harvester droid and some food is just as effective as a master ranger. I guess its a nice profession if you only want to role play and suck at everything else.

Remember this is simply a guide to help those who wish to be ranger to know the profession, know the skills, know how to be an effective ranger NOT whats wrong with our profession, what is better and what needs changing.
Yes things are borked in this profession but a profession guide has nothing to do with it, it just tells you the ins and outs of the current ranger build.
BTW
Nice work calc

That is a bug list, not a guide for new players! You want to show new players what they can do, not what they can't. Why make it a negative experience before they've even started?
Despite all the bugs Ranger is still one of the most fun professions in the game to play. I would encourage anyone to give it a try, bugs and all.
Okay, now that I've read through it - AWESOME!!! I loved the pics... espeically that one, you know which one I mean ROFL. Great job! This tech writer approves!

I bet you also complain when it costs 14k for buffs too.
Rangers make everything you use in the game cost less.
They deserve some respect for it.
Besides - Calculus is FRIGGIN' HUGE. If you don't respect him, he'll beat it into you. ![]()

1) agreed.
2) false, the ranger camps have faster healing and the higher ones have crafting stations (which most don't need due to droids). Not pointless, but not exactly worth the skill points.
3) I disagree. Finding some of the pre-spawned-but-no-waypoint mission NPCs is much faster with tracking, as is finding babys for taming. I would agree that it's not cost effective in terms of skill points, and it's a waste of time for hunting.
4) yup.
5) right.
