Thread: Idea to write the end of solo group
Take out Enchance C and D, adapt the npc/critter HAM, reduce the weapon damage-output in PVE and we're done.

No. There needs be no end to solo groups. if there is then you will be destroying some peoples way of gaming.
Yes and no. There's no real reason to forbid solo grouping, but it really is a pretty dumb idea that came about because of a game mechanic (the xp system) that needs redesigning. The game needs to revolve more around fun and reward than XP, with things that are equally challenging and rewarding to be done solo as there is with an active group. Make 100k xp per hour solo hunting x creature, and get x reward, or 100k xp per hour hunting y creature with a group, for x reward. Something like that would go a long way to making things right.
Grouping shouldn't be required for advancement because, face it, how often are all of your friends on. However, when they are, there should a legitimate and rewarding reason to form an active group if you so desire. A group right now can massacre a level 200 rancor lair in 5 seconds flat, and that's about the hardest content a group can pull other than a dungeon, and the reward is less per person if you do it ina group rather than solo. So if something lower level was introduced that could be solo'd for the same or similar reward as a Rancor lair, for example, and Rancors were made to requirea group (and maybe the possibility of dropping some kind of wanted loot with an honest system different from the ninja-looter standard), there would be a reason for groups to hunt Rancors, yet you could make the same money hunting something smaller solo. I'm not suggesting $37k Humbaba lairs, but whatever the post-revamp standard is, make it possible to earn the same or similar money and xp solo.

The only reason people started solo groups is because the highest level mission you could get from the terminals was something like level 32. since we can easily take on level 200 missions by ourself, we need to solo group to get the higher difficulty missions which also yield the highest paying missions. So it's not a grouping issue, it's a mission terminal issue.
Bingo! The mission system as it now exist was designed for the way the game was a year ago.
Solo groups aren't the problem as they hurt noone's game play anyways the problem is being forced to group to get acess to the higher paying missions.
Players should have the option of what lvl mission they wish to take. If they are up for it, great they should get all the reward. If not then they can seek out help, group up for the mission and share any reward given.
