When I upgraded my graphics card I cranked up a bunch of terrain options. It looks lovely, but there's a big gap between where the game stops rendering trees as sprites and starts rendering them in 3D.
In other words, as I move forward, a tree in the distance will start as a faint sprite, grow closer, then vanish for a while, then re-appear as a 3D object.
Did I create a disjoint between two of the draw distance settings, or is it always like this?

Nice guide. I pretty much knew what most of these meant already, but it shouldhelp many people.
One thing I still don't fully understand is the World Detail Bias option. The guide says it affects static object details, but it doesn't say what effect it has. Is it just a level of detail slider for the static objects? The thing that throws me is that the Static Object Level of Detail has alabel thatdescribes its function well, and this option does not.
As I understand it, the World Detail Bias option is just a Static Object Level of Detail slider that affects the immovable objects in the game like buildings, POIs and those types of things and the Static Object Level of Detail option is the same thing except it affects all of the other objects like guns, speeders, trees, rocks, camps, player houses and all the objects that may or may not be in an area. I would say those are more "dynamic" objects, but that's just my opinion.
And when you say Show Detail World Objects is obsolete does that mean that it's always on (whether it's checked or not)? Or to be more clear are the little world detail always shown now?

you mean garva does something other than delete posts? -j/k
...and a year+ later i finally have an answer to my question about what 'show detail objects' does- nothing, absolutely nothing. now i can stop clicking it, trying to make it work (sad but true)

That's a pretty nice guide. Glad to know exactly what the options do.

Very nice guide.
Along with the brief explaination of its purpose, I would find it amazingly helpful if suggestions or recommendations were also given for each option. As an example - "Enable Bloom(checkbox): Light Glow effect (recommended only for high end DirectX 9c cards)" - Excellent! Name, description, and recommendation. Conversely - "Save Screenshots as Bitmaps - Targas - Jpgs (checkbox): Type of file to save Screenshots" - I'd like to know why there are these particular options and what would be best for what situation.
Again, good work I think it'll help many people.
