What exactly is the reason why we have a group name on our friend list. I dont ever use it, and now that they changed the text and size of the friend list last patch the group row is majorly to big and annoying. What exactly is groups for on that list? I also really dont like the idea that the note field can now be see less of with this change..

say you have all of your guild on the list, and also a few other people in different guilds....it is used to identify what guild they are in or say a group of certain crafters you like or w/e
i use it all the time

Practically manditory for the way that I'm playing the game.
200+ names on the list, listed by various groups, and everytime I log in, I resort the list first by group, then by their "online status". (still wishing this could be made default) : )
Very very handy tool to have.
For those people that do find the row spacing to be inappropriate to their playstyle... If you hover your cursor on the upper line separating the rows, you can click and drag the spacings to your preference. I'm pretty certain that this gets saved with any other interface changes you make...so you shouldn't have to resize it constantly.
Anyways, enjoy : )
Hope this helps

I use the group function myself to sort my guild vs non-guild friends. But I have to agree the text size since the last patch is brutal...

I thought it was default...... mine list is always separated by group, then "other friends", and you have to select the box "hide offline friends" or something like that to make that part work.
