Hi, I have just started trying to do odds and ends of "missions" as given out by various NPCs in the game and am confused. For example (this is not the only one), I just spoke with an Imperial Army Captain (something Freefly) outside Bestine. He told me of a Rebel Military Base that he wanted me to go see and told me that their reports indicated that there would not be a strong Rebel group there so I should be able to handle them. I got a waypoint. When I got there, the message said I arrived (and the waypoint went away) but that was all that happened. There were no Rebels at all. I went back and he just gave it to me again. Are the missions like these broken or just poorly designed or what? I have spent quite some time trying to do some of these type of missions only to have nothing happen at all each time. Is this just the way this game works (or doesn't depending on your perspective)? Please let me know if I have done something wrong so I can do it again as I DO want to enjoy the content of the game if possible.

Some of the NPC's just direct you to POI's or interesting things to see, they aren't really missions as an FYI - this is cool. That said, there should have been something to see when you got to where you were sent.

Ok Jibbrish, and how is one supposed to tell the difference? He certainly (in his text to me) indicated that there would be a small Rebel force for me to deal with - but again, how am I supposed to know? I understand from others that some of these "missions" can have significant respawn time associated with them - so when I get to the spot how do I know if this is just a "pleasant journey to see something cool" or a "real" mission such that I should wait (some indeterminant period of time for a spawn) or come back?

I don't think there is a way to tell the difference. But there should have been something to see and possibly do when you arrived at the wp. Now from what you've said, i'm guessing that you were sent to the Secret Rebel Basethat's in the north west corner of tat (if memory serves, which it doesn't always) and is, i think, a POI.There would be asizable detachment there to kill but it's hidden in a valley in a large mountain range, easy to miss.

Really, the only way to guarantee thatwhat you are getting is a mission is to use the mission terminals or to read the forums (search Game Guides for lots of suggestions)for some NPC mission that sounds good and do that. Randomly talking toNPC'swill get you a combination of the two.
