Thread: Which Race would be good to be a weaponsmith?

Weaponsmith is almost a full-time profession. out of the races you picked, go with the Rodian. If you're gonna go imp, and you don't wanna be a Rodian, go human.



But outta those three, go with the Rodian.

I know Rodian has +10 weapon assembly.

I wanted to try Wookie but the problem with Wookie is Action regeneration since Wookie is limited to 550 quickness and 500 stamina so regeneration of action point is somewhat slow.

I know Human is good if every stat is set at 600 each but however Human is boring. I would like to try different race

My goal is either this
1) Weaponsmith/Rifleman
2) Weaponsmith/Smuggler (smuggler would be nice complimentary to weaponsmith obviously)
3) Weaponsmith/TKM

the 2 races I am considering seriously is either Wookie, Rodian, or Sullustan.

Any helpful tips from experienced weaponsmiths would be helpful!

not sure on this, but i think that mon cals have an experimentation bonus

frankly, do NOT go Wookiee. They are much harder to get the 12 points of experimentation because of their clothing limitations.

Although Mon Cals have +10 weapon assembly, they cannot wear gloves so that makes one less piece of clothing that you can wear. Also, females cant wear ANY tusken clothing so I would avoid that. I would go for a male Human personally, the extra artisan experimentation could help making basic weapons such as cdef weapons, reinforced combat poles etc etc.

Shame on you Engima! I would never have expected such blatantly racist remarks from you. Actually, it's not as hard as people think to reach 12 points as a wookie. I did it in about two months, though I was helped to a great degree by a +6 ws exp tape I got cheap because it had a higher polearm dmg mod that I was able to overcome. As a wook, you can wear the robe, waist wrap, shoulder pads, hood, arm wraps, belt, and bandolier (the +3 exp WS toolkit). So really there is plenty of clothing to hit 12 points. I hit +120 with one piece of clothing unused and one piece using only +1, so I can get up to the max of +125 and add another 3 to eliminate the toolkit (so I can wear a backpack while crafting) eventually.


In all seriousness, it will be easier to get to +12 with another race, but make your own choice. In deciding your ultimate template, don't forget to factor in the artisan survey line if you are planning to mine your own resources and some Merchant as well if you plan to have a vendor.

mon cals can wear some gloves, just not all of them.
